Pump Assembly Technician

What you’ll do • Assembly and Production: Assemble, fit, finish, inspect, and prepare pumps and related components daily according to engineering drawings, bills of material, and work instructions. Success means completing assemblies safely, accurately, and on schedule with minimal rework. • Quality Assurance: Verify dimensions, fits, clearances, and alignment using precision measuring tools; perform final visual and dimensional inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards. • Tool and Equipment Operation: Use hand tools, power tools, grinding, torching, painting equipment, and overhead hoists safely and effectively to build and finish products. • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Machining, Warehouse, and Shipping teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate material usage, assembly identification, and production or quality records; adhere strictly to safety, environmental, and 5S workplace organization standards. • Travel Requirements: Minimal to no travel is expected for this role. • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
What you’ll bring Must-haves: • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. • Proven mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical or pump assembly, industrial manufacturing, or related fields. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of material, and work instructions accurately. • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork with dependable attendance and adaptability to production priorities.
Nice-to-haves: • Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, grinders, hoists, and production equipment. • Knowledge of mechanical assembly concepts including fasteners, fits, alignment, bearings, shafts, seals, and rotating equipment. • Training or certification in hoist, crane, rigging, forklift, hot-work, respirator, or other task-specific safety programs. • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices such as 5S, standard work, and waste reduction.
