About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead Generative AI Engineering for Consumer Technology. You will build the GenAI platform and reusable capabilities that allow Consumer Technology teams to deliver AI-powered experiences safely and at scale, and you will lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) who embed with business and product partners to take high-value GenAI use cases from discovery to production. You will also drive GenAI adoption and measurable developer productivity gains across Consumer Technology engineering.

Reporting to Vivek Pooyath, Technology Executive, this is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has shipped GenAI solutions to production, knows how to turn individual wins into shared platform capabilities, and can build a high-performing team that operates within the controls expected of a regulated financial institution.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and operate shared GenAI services and reusable components, including model access, RAG pipelines, prompt and agent orchestration, tool integration, SDKs and reference architectures
  • Scale shared capabilities across Consumer Technology through LLMOps practices for versioning, deployment, monitoring, observability and cost management, keeping the platform resilient and cost-effective
  • Lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers who embed with business and product teams to deliver high-value, high-impact GenAI use cases from discovery through production
  • Drive rapid prototyping followed by disciplined productionization, and track value realization across business outcomes, customer and colleague experience, and operational efficiency
  • Feed Forward Deployed Engineering learnings back into the platform, turning repeatable solutions from field engagements into reusable platform capabilities
  • Lead GenAI adoption and enablement across engineering and business partners through playbooks, onboarding guides, training and a GenAI community of practice
  • Drive adoption of AI coding assistants and own the developer productivity framework, including AI-assisted development and DORA metrics, with dashboards that pinpoint bottlenecks and guide improvement
  • Ensure GenAI solutions comply with Wells Fargo model risk management, Responsible AI, data governance and privacy policies, including appropriate handling of PII and sensitive customer data
  • Implement guardrails, evaluation standards and security controls (content filtering, prompt-injection defenses, grounding, bias and safety testing), with auditability for regulatory examination
  • Partner with business, product, enterprise architecture, cloud, data and cybersecurity stakeholders to prioritize the use case portfolio and report impact to senior leadership
  • Hire, coach and grow a high-performing, inclusive team of engineers, FDEs and engineering managers, setting clear goals and managing resources, budget and vendor partnerships

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
