POSITION SUMMARY The Adolescent Sexual Treatment and Education Program (ASTEP) provides statewide, in-home treatment and psychoeducation services for adolescents who have displayed inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviors which have resulted in court involvement.   We are looking for clinicians to provide individualized / family services to youth and adolescents with Problem Sexual Behaviors. Clinicians will provide psychoeducation, therapeutic sessions and case management services for youth and families. Services will be provided across the state. If you have high energy, work from a strengths-based perspective and want to join an organization that is a leader in healthcare, then we want to hear from you!   *Please note: Candidate must be bilingual in Spanish and English to qualify for this position.   SALARY $67,000   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work or related license eligible field or a doctoral degree in Psychology is required.   Minimum of 2 years of experience in counseling of adolescents and families is required, as well as 1 year training/experience in treating problem sexual behavior required, preference in treating adolescents.   Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation   Must hold one of the following credentials: LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPC or licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.   Bilingual stipend available for clinicians who are bilingual in Spanish and English   LOCATION Office is located in Middletown, CT.   SCHEDULE Full time   EMPLOYEE BENEFITS At Wheeler, we're committed to not only supporting your career growth but also ensuring your well-being and security.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides coordination for referrals as well as establishes and maintains referral agreements and linkages with community referral sources or ancillary service provider. Conducts program specific screening and evaluation, and formulates diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM). Develops and documents, clear clinical formulations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, developed in collaboration with the client/family and others as relevant.    Provides family and/or individual counseling to clients and their families with appropriate supervision and coordinates treatment phases both internally and with contracted or external service providers. Provides direct case management/therapeutic services and develops case management/therapeutic plans specific to each assigned client and family, including interventions necessary to increase the probability of treatment completion, and to improve life functioning. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations. Provides/supports safety planning and crisis intervention with appropriate supervision and as defined by program.  Position requires after hours on-call responsibilities. Communicates in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers. Provides service in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program. May transport clients to appointments or linkages as appropriate. Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program. Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols. Administers standardized screening tools and collects data as defined by program. Documents all client related information in compliance with agency policy. Maintains records of therapeutic/case management activities for reporting and tracking purposes and completes all documentation for client medical records in accordance with documentation timelines and in compliance with Medicaid, licensing, and other. Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision and consultations. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives. Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
