Job Summary

The Sr. Database Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance databases to support Reward360's loyalty solutions. The role involves managing multiple databases, ensuring security, high availability, and optimizing performance. The Sr. Database Administrator will work closely with developers and data teams to ensure seamless data integration and continuous improvement of database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain data models, schemas, and table structures.
  • Manage and maintain PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, and Redis databases for optimal performance and security.
  • Conduct routine database maintenance, including backups, restorations, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Optimize query performance through tuning, indexing, and monitoring.
  • Implement security measures and perform regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and scientists to enhance database integration and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in managing Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, and Redis databases.
  • Strong understanding of query execution plans and performance optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of disaster recovery principles and backup/restore operations.
  • Familiarity with change request processes and 24x7 support for production environments.
  • Experience in implementing database security measures and conducting vulnerability assessments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions like AWS RDS or standalone databases on EC2.
  • Database certifications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Experience

- 7+ years of relevant experience in database management and administration.

Environment

  • This is a 5-day work-from-office role located in HSR Layout, Sector 6, Bangalore.
  • Early joiners are preferred.
