The posting

Love AI? Brilliant. We want someone who's actually building with it.

AI is moving fast. We're looking for someone who wants to move with it.

At ECA, we're building AI-powered capabilities into our global mobility technology, and we're looking for a curious, hands-on AI Engineer to help us take things further.

This isn't a role where you'll spend your days experimenting with AI concepts that never see the light of day. You'll be building real AI features, working with the latest models and tools, and helping us bring intelligent solutions into production.

From RAG pipelines and agentic workflows to AWS Bedrock and Claude Code, you'll have the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting technologies in AI engineering.

You'll join a collaborative, Agile engineering team where experimentation is encouraged, ideas are welcomed and you'll have plenty of opportunities to develop your skills.

If you're already building with AI, constantly exploring what's next and excited about turning emerging technology into something genuinely useful, we'd love to hear from you.

What will you be doing?

Quite a lot of interesting stuff, actually.

  • Building real AI solutions: Design, develop and deliver AI-powered features using technologies such as Claude, OpenAI, Gemini and open-weight models.
  • Making RAG work: Build and improve retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, working with embeddings, vector databases and retrieval techniques to deliver reliable results.
  • Exploring agentic AI: Help develop intelligent agents and workflows using AWS Bedrock, with opportunities to work with AgentCore and agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Working AI-first: Use Claude Code as part of your everyday engineering workflow, helping us develop smarter ways of designing, building and delivering software.
  • Making AI better: Evaluate and monitor AI performance, identifying opportunities to improve quality, reliability, speed and cost.
  • Building responsibly: Help ensure our AI solutions are secure, trustworthy and developed with appropriate governance, privacy and safeguards.
  • Collaborating and innovating: Work closely with engineers, product teams and other specialists to turn ideas into working solutions.

And because AI never stands still, neither will you. We want someone who enjoys experimenting, sharing ideas and challenging how things are done.

Requirements

We're open to junior and mid-level engineers, so we're particularly interested in your practical experience, technical foundations and enthusiasm for AI.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Around 2–5 years of software development experience, including hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications.
  • Strong development skills in Python and/or TypeScript, alongside solid software engineering fundamentals.
  • Practical experience working with LLM APIs, including Claude, OpenAI or Gemini.
  • Experience building and deploying RAG solutions, including embeddings, vector databases and retrieval optimisation.
  • Hands-on experience running open-source or open-weight models, such as Llama, Mistral or Qwen.
  • Practical experience using Claude Code, including its workflows, plugins, skills and other development capabilities.
  • Experience with AWS Bedrock, including model integration and associated services.
  • An understanding of responsible AI, including governance, data privacy, security and appropriate safeguards.
  • Experience working in an Agile software engineering environment.

Most importantly, you'll be curious, proactive and comfortable learning in a field that changes almost daily.

You'll enjoy collaborating with others, taking ownership of your work and explaining complex technical ideas without making everyone's head spin.

A few bonus points if you have...

We'd also be interested in experience with:

  • Agentic AI development, multi-agent systems or orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph or Strands Agents.
  • Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.
  • LLM evaluation and observability tools.
  • Building MCP servers or integrating external tools with AI agents.
  • Technologies such as Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, Docker or Terraform.
  • Developing AI features within a multi-tenant B2B SaaS environment.

Benefits

At ECA, we're helping organisations navigate the complexities of global mobility through technology, data and expertise.

We're investing in the next generation of our technology, and AI has an important role to play in how we develop our products and deliver value to our customers.

Joining us means you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work on meaningful AI projects that make it into production.
  • Get hands-on with emerging AI technologies and development tools.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and product specialists.
  • Experiment, innovate and contribute ideas that influence how we build software.
  • Develop your career as part of a team embracing AI-native engineering.

We're looking for someone who wants to learn, contribute and grow with us.

Sound like your kind of challenge?

If you're passionate about AI, enjoy building things and want to help shape how emerging technology is used in real-world applications, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now and let's build something interesting.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
