We are looking for a strategic and commercially driven Business Head – Commercial Interiors & Interior Architecture to lead business growth, project delivery, client relationships, and operational excellence. The role requires a strong combination of business leadership, commercial acumen, design understanding, and project management expertise within the commercial interiors industry.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving revenue, developing strategic client relationships, managing large-scale interior projects, and building high-performing teams. This position offers the opportunity to shape business strategy, strengthen market presence, and deliver high-quality commercial interior solutions aligned with client objectives.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business strategies to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion in commercial interiors and interior architecture.
- Identify new business opportunities across corporate offices, workplaces, commercial establishments, and other relevant segments.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, architects, consultants, developers, and decision-makers.
- Lead client acquisition, presentations, proposal development, commercial negotiations, and contract closures.
- Oversee the complete project lifecycle, including client briefing, design conceptualisation, space planning, budgeting, design development, execution, and handover.
- Ensure interior architecture and design solutions align with client requirements, functionality, aesthetics, technical feasibility, and brand guidelines.
- Review project estimates, BOQs, tender documents, vendor quotations, budgets, and commercial proposals to maintain cost efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, procurement, quality, and execution standards across multiple engagements.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, procurement, project management, and site execution teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Establish and monitor business performance metrics, revenue targets, project margins, cost controls, and client satisfaction.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across business development, design, and project execution.
- Identify operational improvements, strengthen internal processes, and implement scalable systems for business growth.
- Stay informed about commercial interior design trends, workplace strategies, materials, technologies, and evolving client expectations.
- Manage project risks, resolve escalations, and ensure adherence to contractual commitments, safety requirements, and applicable standards.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 15+ years of professional experience in commercial interiors, interior architecture, workplace design, or related sectors, with substantial business leadership exposure.
- Proven experience leading business operations, driving revenue growth, and managing large commercial interior projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial interiors, interior architecture, space planning, materials, finishes, and construction methodologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in business development, enterprise client acquisition, commercial negotiations, and strategic account management.
- Strong financial acumen, including project costing, budgeting, BOQs, margin management, and profitability analysis.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating design, procurement, and execution functions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to balance design quality, commercial objectives, operational efficiency, and timely project delivery.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and a results-oriented approach.
- A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
