The posting

The Chinese Business Communications Specialist will support ProgressSoft’s Marketing department by serving as a key communication bridge between internal teams and Chinese companies, suppliers, manufacturers, technology partners, and other stakeholders.

The role goes beyond direct translation and includes business communication, meetings, documentation, localization, proofreading, follow-ups, and coordination with Chinese stakeholders. The successful candidate should be able to understand the intended business meaning behind communications and convey it accurately and professionally in both Chinese and English.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a communication bridge between the Marketing department and Chinese companies, suppliers, manufacturers, and potential partners.
  • Draft and manage professional Chinese correspondence, including emails, follow-ups, requests, and business documents.
  • Review communications received from Chinese stakeholders and explain their meaning, context, and important nuances to internal teams.
  • Participate in meetings and calls with Chinese companies and provide real-time language and communication support when required.
  • Translate, localize, proofread, and review business, marketing, commercial, and technology-related materials between Chinese and English.
  • Review Chinese versions of presentations, brochures, website content, proposals, product materials, and other business communications.
  • Ensure translations communicate the intended meaning accurately and maintain consistent terminology.
  • Prepare bilingual meeting notes, summaries, and supporting documentation when required.
  • Review documentation received from Chinese manufacturers or partners and identify unclear wording or areas requiring clarification.
  • Provide language and communication support during meetings, negotiations, exhibitions, conferences, and other business events.
  • Support ProgressSoft representatives during business visits to China and assist Chinese delegations visiting Jordan or regional offices when required.
  • Advise internal teams on Chinese business communication etiquette and cultural considerations.
  • Help prevent communication misunderstandings by explaining relevant linguistic and cultural nuances.
  • Support relationship-building with Chinese manufacturers, suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Native-level Mandarin Chinese with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Arabic language skills are considered an advantage but are not mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Languages, Translation, Communications, International Business, Business Administration, Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience in Chinese or international business communication, translation/localization, account coordination, international trade, technology companies, supplier relations, or vendor management.
  • Strong fresh graduates with relevant academic, internship, or international exposure may also be considered.
  • Experience in technology, AI, electronics, manufacturing, or other technical industries is considered a significant advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with external companies and business stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to understand business context across languages and cultures.
  • Willingness to participate in meetings, events, and international business visits when required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
