The posting

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions, with strong skills in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
  • Manage conditions involving the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
  • Perform and interpret upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
  • Perform appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
  • Manage complex cases including GI bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide appropriate pre- and post-procedure care.
  • Collaborate with gastrointestinal surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and complex case discussions.
  • Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and procedure documentation.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
  • MD/DNB/DM/MRCP or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Gastroenterology.
  • Significant post-specialization experience at Consultant level.
  • Strong experience in diagnostic and therapeutic gastroenterology.
  • Proficiency in upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
  • Experience in advanced endoscopic procedures is an advantage.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, procedural skills, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
