The posting

Become the trusted right hand to a music industry founder. Triage communication, coordinate priorities and build systems across multiple businesses.

£1,800/month | Full-time | UK timezoneI’m Simon King, founder of Covert Talent. I’ve spent more than 25 years in the music industry, and today we manage artists, songwriters and producers including Tom Walker and Eurovision winner Nemo. Alongside Covert Talent, I run a production music library and have recently launched Tour Advance, a technology platform for tour managers.

Across the businesses, there’s no shortage of conversations, ideas or opportunities. My challenge is keeping things moving while making time for the work that needs me. Emails, WhatsApp messages and requests arrive throughout the day, and too much depends on me remembering to follow up. I’m looking for an experienced Executive Assistant who can get to know the people and projects, spot what matters and give me more time for strategy, relationships and growing the businesses.

You’ll work directly with me as my trusted right hand, with scope to shape how we organise the working day. Your starting point is my inbox, WhatsApp, diary and action list. The aim is to handle 80% of the preparation and follow-up so I can focus on the 20% that needs my judgment or personal touch. Once that foundation is working well, there’s scope to help with outreach, Tour Advance demos and marketing.

📋 Own my inbox: prioritise messages, draft replies, respond or delegate within agreed boundaries and make important correspondence and deal information easy to find

✅ Keep a shared action list with clear owners and deadlines, and follow up until outstanding items are resolved

💬 Turn important WhatsApp messages and group conversations into actions, so requests don’t get lost between channels

📝 Turn voice notes and meeting debriefs into next steps, and give me a short daily brief on priorities, decisions and recommended next steps

📅 Coordinate my diary and meetings across the businesses, protecting time for focused work

🤝 Liaise with teams, artists, clients and partners, matching my tone and knowing when a message needs to come personally from me

⚙️ Improve everyday processes and use digital tools or automations to reduce repetitive work

✈️ Help with personal admin, travel research, gifts and occasional ad hoc tasks

🎯 Anticipate what I’ll need, flag competing priorities and remind me when something needs my attention

🎵 As capacity allows, support prospect research, outreach, follow-ups and Tour Advance demo coordination

📱 Help with marketing and social media tasks once the core EA support is running smoothly

Full-time is preferred, with strong overlap throughout UK business hours and occasional flexibility when needed. We may consider part-time initially, provided you can offer consistent availability during the working day. Any initial part-time arrangement would be discussed separately.

Requirements

You’ll bring:

✅ Proven experience as a senior EA supporting a busy founder or entrepreneur

✅ The initiative to spot what needs doing, suggest a next step and act without waiting to be prompted

✅ Careful attention to detail in written communication, scheduling and follow-ups

✅ A reliable way of tracking tasks and keeping commitments, even when priorities change

✅ The judgment to prioritise competing requests across several businesses

✅ Confidence managing upwards: asking direct questions, giving reminders and pushing back constructively

✅ Discretion and sound judgment with confidential correspondence, accounts and business information

✅ Independence, with a clear sense of what you can handle and when to involve me

✅ Excellent written communication and confidence dealing with clients and other external contacts

✅ Confidence using digital tools, AI and simple automations to organise information and save time

It’s a bonus if you have:

⭐ Experience supporting one founder across more than one business

⭐ Sales outreach or customer-facing experience

⭐ Experience helping with marketing or social media

⭐ An interest in, or experience of, music, entertainment or technology

⭐ Experience building workflows and automations

You’ll get to know the people and decisions behind the different businesses. This will suit you if you enjoy a close working partnership, bring calm to a busy day and earn trust by doing what you say you’ll do. I value someone who can tell me, “Here’s what I recommend,” as well as, “Here’s what needs your attention.”

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
