Director, Creative Marketing
Position Overview
The Director of Creative Marketing is responsible for translating the creative vision into executed campaigns, leading AV and creative marketing materials that drive visibility, engagement, and commercial performance for our films. This role owns day-to-day creative direction and production across theatrical and VOD/SVOD releases, from concept through execution, delivery, and post-campaign learnings, spanning trailers, key art, social content, brand campaigns, and theatrical marketing materials to keep campaigns cohesive and ensure every touchpoint reflects the voice of the film.
Generate the Ideas: Develop and execute distinctive campaign ideas with a clear creative direction that cut through a crowded marketplace and create cultural momentum around each theatrical release.
Bring Everyone Together Around It: Craft creative briefs and present campaign concepts that clearly communicate the creative vision to filmmakers, talent, senior leadership, and creative partners.
Creative Direction
- Partner with the President and EVP Marketing to execute AV marketing assets including trailers, promotional videos, and digital AV as well as ad hoc marketing materials that reflect the distinct voice of each film
- Provide creative direction and quality control on key art, digital, and social content, ensuring consistency with the broader campaign vision
Creative Marketing Strategy
- Translate high-level creative and brand strategy into individual campaign plans, briefs, and deliverables
- Execute marketing strategy for assigned film projects across theatrical and VOD/SVOD releases, in alignment with the President and EVP Marketing’s overall direction
- Flag risks, gaps, or opportunities in campaign strategy in a timely manner
Campaign Development
- Drive the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns AV, digital, and social ensuring consistency and brand alignment across all platforms
- Contribute to the development of experiential marketing tactics
- Oversee production of trailers, posters, key art, and promotional content from brief through delivery
Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Manage direct reports (Managers, Coordinators), providing direction, coaching, resources, and support to help them hit developmental targets and contribute to team goals
- Establish and maintain best practices for production, creative development, and team workflow
Digital Strategy
- Creator Marketing: Help identify relevant creator talent and support development of creator marketing strategy per campaign, from editorial opportunities to paid partnership content
- Organic Social: Review and help direct rollout of organic social campaigns; partner with the Digital Marketing team on trend/brainstorm sessions and on optimizing AV creative based on social performance
Marketing Content Production
- Own marketing-led AV shoots end to end, including creative concepting, agency and vendor management, budget oversight, and talent/rep liaison
Partnership Development
- Build and maintain relationships with creative agencies, freelance talent, distributors, publicists, and content creators to extend the reach and impact of campaigns
Brand Management
- Ensure all marketing materials and initiatives align with the company's brand identity and contribute to its overall reputation and growth
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Acquisitions, Production & Development: Support creative marketing wishlists and deliverables for productions; help develop and oversee execution of on-set materials (e.g. specialty photo shoots, BTS/EPK concepts)
- Delivery & Post-Production: Coordinate with Post and Delivery to ensure marketing has timely access to assets needed for materials; help keep post-production workflows for marketing materials efficient and cost-effective
- Digital Distribution: Support home entertainment and awards/FYC initiatives; help adapt theatrical key art for the home entertainment window
- Legal/Business Affairs: Route key campaign materials for guild and paid ads compliance review; ensure freelance/vendor onboarding is handled correctly
- PR: Coordinate on talent participation requests for marketing initiatives; provide timely updates on key materials (posters, trailers) to align on launch timing
- Theatrical Distribution: Track deadlines for in-theater trailers and adhere to MPA guidelines; provide creative direction for exhibitor digital AV assets
This role will be based in either our Los Angeles or New York office, with a hybrid 3-day-a-week in-office work arrangement and occasional travel between locations.
Our target salary range for this role is between $110,000 to $125,000. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location, and may vary depending on experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.

Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have:
- 8+ years of experience in creative marketing, film marketing, or a related field, with prior experience managing a team
- A deep passion for film marketing and entertainment; strategic, curious, and resourceful, with a drive to push creative boundaries
- Demonstrated expertise developing trailers, key art, and AV/digital campaign creative for theatrical and streaming releases
- Proven track record leading complex, multi-vendor production workflows at scale, with strong creative instincts and a clear POV to develop, articulate, and defend ideas that raise the bar
- Experience building and maintaining partnerships with agencies, talent, and other external creative partners
- Comfortable working cross-departmentally with Production, Post, Digital Distribution, Legal, PR, and Theatrical Distribution
- Skilled with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, and project management platforms (e.g. Airtable, Asana)
