Awtad is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, experienced Technical Office & Site Engineer with a strong background in construction and contracting projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical office expertise—specifically in electrical load reviewing and engineering drawing modifications—with hands-on site supervision.
Requirements
1. Technical Office Duties
- Load Calculation & Review: Study and verify electrical load calculations, panel schedules, cable sizing, and circuit breaker capacities for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Drawing Preparation & Modification: Draft, modify, and review Shop Drawings and As-Built Drawings to resolve design discrepancies and adapt to site conditions.
- Material Submittals & RFIs: Review and process material submittals (MARs/MIRs) and technical data sheets, and issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to address design clarifications with consultants.
- Quantity Surveying: Assist in material takeoff and quantity verification against project Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and specs.
2. Site Supervision & Execution
- Site Execution: Oversee daily installation of power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-current systems in full compliance with approved shop drawings and specifications.
- Quality Assurance & Inspections: Conduct field inspections, submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), receive delivered materials on-site, and ensure strict quality control.
- Subcontractor Management: Direct site technicians and subcontractors, resolve constructability issues on-site, and enforce safety standards.
- Testing & Commissioning: Participate in pre-commissioning, testing, and system handover procedures.
3. Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, and mechanical (MEP) teams to prevent interface clashes before and during execution.
- Maintain clear technical communication between consultants, project managers, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
4.Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Proven experience in electrical contracting and site execution, with demonstrated technical office practice.
- Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, DIALux, and electrical load calculation tools.
- Codes & Standards: Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and site execution standards.
