About the Company

Our partner is a seed-funded AI search startup helping enterprises understand and influence how they appear in AI-generated search results. They have roughly $1.5M in ARR against a $5-10M pipeline, raised approximately $5M from a well-regarded early-stage fund, and run a fifteen-person team out of a New York office. The category is new, the buyers are curious, and the marketing story is still unwritten.

The Opportunity

This is the first marketing hire at the company. Someone internally is already picking up the GTM engineering motions, but the team is looking for the person who has actually built the function before and can stand it up properly: channels from zero to one across LinkedIn, paid acquisition, social and user-generated content, conferences and in-person events, and whatever else proves out.

The mandate is deliberately broad and the experimentation budget is real. You would work closely with the incoming Account Executive to build top of funnel together, and report into the founding team. As the first marketer, you define what the function becomes and how quickly it grows.

Responsibilities

  • Build the marketing function from zero to one across multiple channels
  • Own paid acquisition, LinkedIn, social and user-generated content, and event marketing
  • Design and run experiments to find the channels that work, and kill the ones that do not
  • Partner with sales to build and qualify top of funnel
  • Establish the measurement and reporting that tells the team what is actually working
  • Operate autonomously with direct founder access

Requirements

  • Three to ten years of marketing experience, weighted toward demonstrable channel-building results rather than years served
  • Startup marketing background, with a clearly successful outcome you can point to
  • Track record developing and executing growth marketing strategy across multiple channels, not a single specialty
  • Data-driven approach to channel testing and measurement
  • Ability to work autonomously and set your own priorities
  • Comfortable working onsite in New York six days per week
  • Bonus: genuine interest in the AI space; agency experience with a strong multi-client track record
