The posting

Weybourne Group is the holding company for the Dyson technology company, Dyson Farming, and other diverse business interests. Outside the operating businesses, Weybourne manages an investment portfolio and provides financial and other professional support to the Dyson Family, their estates, and personal business interests. The group covers a wide range of sectors including farming, financial and commercial property investments and residential property.

The Head of Technology is the most senior technology leader in the business and is accountable for shaping and delivering the IT strategy for Weybourne Group and supported entities (together the “Group”). Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and business leaders across the Group, the role combines both strategic and operational leadership of the IT function with a forward-looking remit including but not limited to the harnessing of data, emerging technology (notably AI), and enhanced security for both internal transformation and shareholder value.

This is a pivotal appointment. The successful candidate will have a clear runway to define the Group’s future technology direction while ensuring the day-to-day IT services remain efficient, effective, secure, and aligned with Group priorities.

We offer you the opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team where your contributions are valued and growth is encouraged.

Requirements

Strategy, Innovation & AI

Define and execute the groups long-term technology strategy, ensuring it is closely aligned to commercial priorities and the evolving needs of the Group.

Lead the Group’s adoption of emerging technologies - including AI, automation, and intelligent workflow tools - identifying where they create genuine value and ensuring the group moves at the right pace.

Collaborate with leaders across the Group as its collective voice on technology, scanning the market for trends, threats, and opportunities, and translating these into actionable recommendations for the business. Identify common themes across business-specific technology needs which should be expanded into broader, enterprise-wide priorities.

Set and manage the technology budget in line with the groups strategic plan, ensuring spend is prioritised and value is demonstrable.

Data

Develop and lead the Group’s data strategy, ensuring data is treated as a strategic asset that supports better commercial and operational decision-making.

Improve data quality, governance, and accessibility across core systems, working closely with all businesses to align their operational priorities with the IT function’s enterprise-wide data strategy, processes and policies.

Build the foundations needed to support AI and analytics use cases - including data architecture, data classification, and the right tooling and skills across internal teams.

Champion a data-informed culture across the group, supporting Group leaders in using data to drive performance.

Security & Cyber Resilience

Own the Group’s information security strategy and operating framework, ensuring it remains fit for purpose against an evolving threat landscape and the increasing demands of the Group, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

Ensure organisation-appropriate ISO certifications and/or other relevant accreditations are maintained, working closely with Governance & Compliance.

Maintain a resilient technical architecture with robust contingency, disaster recovery, and incident response plans, regularly tested and rehearsed.

Act as the senior point of escalation for cyber incidents, ensuring the Group’s leadership and family have confidence in its security posture.

Embed a strong security culture across the Group through training, awareness, and clear policy.

Operational Excellence

Design and deliver a contemporary, best-in-class IT operating model which can anticipate and adapt to evolving business needs while meeting its core purpose.

Lead the secure, efficient, and reliable day-to-day delivery of the Group’s IT services across infrastructure, applications, end-user support, and cloud.

Ensure the Group's core system applications are well supported, well integrated, and continuously improved.

Drive a continuous improvement mindset across the IT function, with a well-defined service proposition, clear service standards and meaningful measurement of user experience.

Lead effective IT procurement and vendor management, ensuring suppliers deliver quality, value, and partnership.

Leadership & People

Lead, develop, and inspire the IT team, building a stakeholder service mindset, accountability, and continuous learning.

Take an active role in succession planning and team development, ensuring the function has the right capabilities and skills for the future - including in data, security, and AI.

Build strong, trusted relationships with the Senior Leadership Team (“SLT”), Heads of Department, and the wider business.

Act as a credible, visible leader of the business, proactively shaping its broader strategic direction.

Stakeholder & Support Engagement

Communicate the technology vision clearly and compellingly across all levels of the Group. Distil the Group’s technology strategy, key priorities and business-specific initiatives into a clear and actionable roadmap, securing buy-in from the SLT on that output.

Engage with and support business development at all levels of the organisation.

Experience

Senior technology leadership experience gained within a comparable, global group environment.

A proven track record of shaping and delivering technology strategy, with the credibility to influence at senior leader and board level.

Demonstrable experience of leading transformation - particularly involving data, cloud, security, and emerging technologies such as AI.

Strong commercial acumen, including budget ownership and the ability to make clear trade-offs on investment priorities.

Experience leading, managing and developing high-performing technology teams, including in functions such as infrastructure, applications, service delivery, security, and data.

Skills & Attributes

Strategic thinker with the pragmatism and operational depth to deliver, not just design.

Genuinely curious about technology and its application - particularly AI and data - and able to translate possibility into business value.

Calm, credible, and confident communicator with excellent written and oral skills, able to engage at all levels.

Strong stakeholder management with the gravitas to influence leaders and the empathy to build trust across the Group.

A strong collaborator who partners effectively with peers and the partnership to deliver what is best for the Group, including driving the adoption and use of emerging technology.

A self-starter who thrives in a demanding environment and brings energy, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Comfortable navigating ambiguity and balancing the long-term agenda with short-term operational realities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
