The posting

Alaro City is a joint venture between Rendeavour, the largest new city and industrial park builder in Africa, and the Lagos State Government. It is one of the fastest growing real estate and urban development projects in Nigeria. It is conceived on 2,000 hectares of land and has areas for offices, logistics and warehousing, homes, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, entertainment and 150 hectares of parks and open spaces.

Located in the North West Quadrant of the Lekki Free Zone, Alaro City is ideally situated on the Lekki-Epe Expressway for ease of transportation to Lagos or towards the rest of Nigeria.

Alaro City is a secure, predictable and proven environment for individuals and businesses, and already home to investments by notable global and local business such as BUA Group, CAT (Mantrac), Ariel Foods, Kenol, SANA Group and international real estate developers and investors.

It is in close proximity to the future Lagos international airport and close to the region’s largest deep-sea port and major Nigerian and international companies.

Requirements

Irrigation Design & Management

  • Design, review, and optimize irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, sub-surface, smart irrigation, etc.) All over Alaro City.
  • Prepare irrigation layouts, zones, hydraulic calculations, and system specifications.
  • Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of irrigation systems.
  • Monitor system performance and implement water-efficiency improvements.
  • Manage schedules for irrigation operation based on seasons, planting phases, and weather conditions.

Landscape Construction Support

  • Assist in managing landscape construction projects from design interpretation to execution.
  • Coordinate irrigation works with softscape and hardscape construction activities.
  • Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals related to irrigation and landscape works.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Support project handover from construction to maintenance.

Landscape Maintenance Operations

  • Support the planning and execution of landscape maintenance contracts and in-house operations.
  • Supervise maintenance teams for irrigation, planting, turf, and shrubs.
  • Develop and monitor maintenance schedules, checklists, and SOPs.
  • Ensure timely repair of irrigation leaks, blockages, damaged lines, and control systems.
  • Monitor plant health related to irrigation performance and soil conditions.

Team & Contractor Management

  • Supervise irrigation technicians, foremen, and landscaping teams.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and service providers.
  • Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Budgeting & Reporting ·

  • Assist in preparing budgets for irrigation systems, maintenance works, and upgrades.
  • Track material usage, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Prepare regular technical and progress reports for management.
  • Support procurement processes related to irrigation and landscaping materials

REQUIREMENTS

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Irrigation Engineering from a reputable university

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in irrigation and landscape operations.
  • Proven experience in both landscape construction projects and long-term maintenance.
  • Experience working on large-scale developments, cities, resorts, or mixed-use developments is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

  • ·Strong knowledge of irrigation system design and hydraulics.
  • Experience with pumps, controllers, valves, filtration systems, and water management strategies.
  • Ability to read and interpret landscape and irrigation drawings.
  • Knowledge of tropical plants, turf, soil conditions, and water requirements.
  • Familiarity with sustainable landscape and water-saving practices.

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Practical, hands-on problem solver.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Able to work between office planning and on-site field operations.
