Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior IT Communications & Digital Content Specialist with strong editorial expertise, excellent English, and proven experience in an IT or technology environment.
Reporting to IT Management, you will take ownership of IT communications and digital content, from identifying relevant topics and shaping key messages to writing, editing, publishing, and evaluating their impact. This senior role requires substantial hands-on editorial experience, sound judgment, and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, engaging, and useful communications for diverse audiences.
You will lead the editorial development of the IT intranet presence, support strategic communication and transformation initiatives, and advise IT leaders and stakeholders on messaging, content quality, and effective digital communication. You will work independently, proactively identify communication needs, and ensure consistently high editorial standards across relevant channels.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Content & Editorial Management — Approximately 60%
- Take ownership of the editorial quality, accuracy, and relevance of IT content across the corporate intranet and other approved digital platforms.
- Research, write, edit, and publish original content covering IT strategy, transformation initiatives, technology services, and organizational priorities.
- Translate technical input from IT specialists into clear, audience-focused articles, announcements, service updates, and guidance.
- Develop and maintain an editorial calendar, proactively identifying topics and coordinating contributions from subject matter experts.
- Apply editorial judgment to content structure, tone, messaging, and suitability for each audience and channel.
- Review and substantively edit stakeholder contributions to ensure clarity, consistent language, and alignment with communication objectives.
- Regularly audit content, resolve inconsistencies, and coordinate updates or removal of outdated information.
- Apply accessibility, usability, and digital publishing best practices.
- Maintain metadata and content structures that support search, discoverability, and relevant notifications.
- Manage requests received through the intranet and webmaster mailbox, assessing priorities and advising on appropriate content solutions.
- Develop and maintain publishing workflows, editorial guidelines, and content governance documentation.
IT Communications & Stakeholder Advisory — Approximately 40%
- Support IT Management in planning and delivering communications aligned with IT strategy, priorities, and key initiatives.
- Independently draft and refine leadership messages, project communications, change announcements, newsletters, and other internal communication materials.
- Work closely with IT leaders, project teams, and technical experts to identify communication needs and develop clear, consistent messages.
- Develop communications for technology rollouts, service changes, and IT transformation initiatives, helping employees understand their impact and required actions.
- Advise senior stakeholders on audience needs, messaging, tone, channel selection, and timing.
- Coordinate communication plans and approval processes to ensure timely and consistent delivery.
- Collaborate with corporate communications colleagues to align IT messaging with wider business communications.
- Support communication projects across the IT organization and wider business.
- Monitor content engagement and communication effectiveness, using findings to improve future content and channel performance.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, Marketing, Information Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in digital communications, internal communications, editorial content development, or a comparable role, with demonstrated senior-level responsibility.
- Substantial hands-on editorial experience, including researching, writing, substantively editing, and publishing original content.
- Proven experience working within or supporting an IT or technology organization, with the ability to understand technical topics and communicate them accurately.
- Excellent English writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce publication-ready content independently.
- Experience managing corporate intranet or website content through a Content Management System (CMS).
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to adapt complex information for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders and work effectively with subject matter experts, constructively challenge unclear input, and improve content quality.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and consistency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience communicating IT transformation, digital workplace initiatives, technology adoption, or organizational change.
- Experience developing editorial calendars, communication plans, and content governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with SharePoint or similar enterprise content and collaboration platforms.
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards, usability principles, and search optimization.
- Experience using analytics and engagement data to evaluate and improve communications.
- Experience working in an international organization with diverse stakeholder groups.
