To supervise and coordinate mechanical construction, installation, fabrication, maintenance, and commissioning activities, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily mechanical activities at project sites and workshops.
- Lead and manage mechanical foremen, technicians, fitters, welders, fabricators, riggers, and subcontractors.
- Review project drawings, specifications, method statements, and work schedules prior to execution.
- Plan manpower, equipment, materials, and resources to achieve project targets.
- Monitor work progress and ensure activities are completed according to approved schedules.
- Coordinate with project engineers, clients, consultants, and other disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure all mechanical installations and fabrication works comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical, operational, and resource-related issues.
- Monitor productivity and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Verify material availability and coordinate with procurement and stores departments.
- Participate in testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Maintain project documentation, site records, and attendance reports.
- Ensure high standards of workmanship, quality control, and housekeeping.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical construction, industrial maintenance, fabrication, or contracting projects.
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience in industrial plants, commercial construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, or heavy engineering projects.
- GCC experience is preferred.
