Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the EBS demand management process (STEER: Screen, Target, Endorse, Execute, Retire), ensuring all business demand is effectively captured, assessed, prioritized, governed, and delivered.
- Act as the central point of coordination for all EBS demand, working closely with business stakeholders to evaluate requirements, identify priorities, and align delivery with strategic objectives.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of application change requests and defects, ensuring all changes are appropriately assessed, approved, controlled, and implemented through established governance processes.
- Maintain a comprehensive view of the EBS portfolio, ensuring project status, milestones, risks, budgets, benefits, and delivery performance are accurately tracked and reported.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to facilitate prioritization decisions, balancing business demand, resource capacity, strategic objectives, and operational requirements.
- Manage and optimize resource planning across EBS teams, contractors, and third-party partners, ensuring effective allocation of skills and capacity to support business priorities.
- Provide governance oversight across the EBS portfolio, ensuring projects adhere to established PMO standards, methodologies, stage gates, and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with application support providers, project managers, and technical teams to ensure timely delivery of enhancements, releases, defect resolutions, and project outcomes.
- Lead portfolio health reviews, identifying risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and delivery challenges while driving proactive mitigation actions.
- Develop and maintain portfolio, demand, capacity, and performance dashboards that provide clear visibility and data-driven insights for leadership decision-making.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality reporting, steering committee packs, and governance updates for the Technology Committee, Architecture Review Board, Change Advisory Board, Design Authorities, and EBS Leadership Team.
- Facilitate governance forums by managing meeting schedules, agendas, action logs, decision registers, and stakeholder communications.
- Support annual technology planning, budgeting, and roadmap development through accurate demand forecasting, resource modelling, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with project managers and business stakeholders to ensure business cases, benefits realization plans, and investment proposals are robust and aligned with strategic objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement across PMO processes, governance frameworks, reporting capabilities, and portfolio management practices to enhance delivery performance and stakeholder experience.
- Ensure compliance with EnerMech's information security, change management, governance, and code of conduct requirements across all EBS activities.
About you:
You are an experienced PMO and portfolio management professional with a proven track record of driving governance, managing technology portfolios, and enabling successful project delivery across complex business environments.
You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders, balancing competing priorities, and providing clear reporting and insights that support effective decision-making.
You will also demonstrate:
- Experience in PMO, portfolio management, project governance, or technology delivery.
- Strong understanding of portfolio, demand, resource, and capacity management.
- Experience supporting business systems, ERP, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and governance excellence.
- A degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline is desirable.
Requirements
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 7+ years in PMO, portfolio or project management roles, including 3+ years in a PMO lead or manager role within an IT function.
• Hands-on experience running demand intake, triage and prioritisation across BAU and project work.
• Experience managing change requests and defects for an ERP or other business-critical systems, including working
with third-party support partners.
• Experience with resource and capacity planning across multiple teams.
• Track record of producing reporting and papers for executive committees and steering committees.
• Recognised project or portfolio management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, MSP or P3O).
Nice to have:
• ITIL 4 Foundation.
• Agile or hybrid delivery experience (e.g. Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
• Experience in energy, oil & gas, industrial services or another asset-intensive, multi-entity organisation
