We are hiring a Principal Engineer to lead the technical design and development of highly scalable backend systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role involving architecture, system design, complex problem-solving and mentoring of senior engineers.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build large-scale distributed backend systems.
  • Improve system performance, reliability, scalability and availability.
  • Solve complex problems related to concurrency, consistency and asynchronous processing.
  • Own key architecture and technical design decisions.
  • Work hands-on with critical components and production systems.
  • Set engineering standards and provide technical guidance across teams.
  • Mentor senior engineers and support technical decision-making.
  • Explore and implement AI-assisted development and AI/ML solutions where relevant.

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • 12+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Golang (Go).
  • Strong experience with Java, Python or C++ can also be considered.
  • Deep understanding of Distributed Systems, Concurrency, Consistency Models and Asynchronous Architecture.
  • Strong System Design and Architecture experience.
  • Production experience with AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Strong experience with Relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience across performance, reliability and scalability.
  • Previous experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer or equivalent.
  • Strong technical communication and mentoring skills.
