Position Summary
The Project Controls Specialist provides independent assessment and monitoring of project performance across schedule, cost, risk, change management, cash flow forecasting, and project execution metrics. This position analyzes project information, identifies risks and opportunities, supports performance reviews, and recommends corrective actions to improve project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Independently assess and monitor project performance, including schedule, cost, risk, change management, cash flow forecasts, and execution metrics.
- Analyze project controls data to identify performance trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for improved project outcomes.
- Prepare clear, accurate management reports that summarize project status, performance issues, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
- Support project performance reviews by developing analyses, metrics, and other decision-support information.
- Recommend corrective actions in response to schedule, cost, risk, change, cash flow, or execution performance concerns.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to evaluate project information and support timely, informed management decisions.
- Maintain the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of project controls information used for reporting and forecasting.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience supporting project controls activities, project performance assessment, or project monitoring.
- Working knowledge of schedule, cost, risk, change management, cash flow forecasting, and project execution metrics.
- Ability to analyze project data, identify risks and opportunities, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
- Ability to prepare management-level reports and support project performance reviews.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with project and management stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project controls and earned value management.
- Experience with project scheduling and cost analysis.
- Experience supporting large construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience developing project forecasts, performance metrics, risk assessments, and corrective-action recommendations.
Education and Experience
Relevant education and experience that demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform project controls, earned value management, scheduling, cost analysis, risk assessment, change management, cash flow forecasting, and project performance reporting responsibilities. Experience supporting large construction or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
