About the Role
We are hiring a Modular Construction Sales Agent to generate, qualify, and close buyers for factory-built and modular homes and commercial structures. You will own the full sales cycle—from first conversation through signed contract and handoff to production—while educating customers on the speed, quality, and cost advantages of modular construction versus traditional stick-built methods.
This is a relationship and consultative sales role. The strongest candidates already know how people buy property and how deals get financed. Experience in real estate sales, or as a current or former loan officer, is a major plus.
What You Will Do
- Prospect and develop a pipeline of homeowners, landowners, builders, developers, and commercial buyers through referrals, partnerships, events, digital leads, and outbound outreach.
- Prepare proposals, option packages, and purchase agreements; negotiate terms within approved guidelines.
- Coordinate with design, estimating, production, and project management so customer expectations match factory capacity and site requirements.
- Guide buyers through financing conversations and connect them with lenders; help them understand construction-to-permanent loans, land loans, and typical modular underwriting requirements.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reports.
- Represent the company at open houses, model home tours, trade shows, realtor events, and community meetings.
- Build referral relationships with real estate agents, loan officers, land brokers, architects, and general contractors.
- Stay current on local zoning, permitting, foundation/site work, and delivery logistics that affect feasibility and close dates.
Requirements
- Proven B2C or B2B consultative sales experience with a track record of meeting quota.
- Comfort presenting price, options, and contracts to individuals and families making a major purchase.
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain technical product details in plain language.
- Self-directed, organized, and comfortable managing a pipeline with limited daily supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory for site visits, appointments, and events.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, email, and standard office software.
- High integrity in handling customer funds, deposits, and contractual commitments.
Major Plus — Strongly Preferred
- Candidates with either of the following backgrounds will be prioritized:
- Real estate sales experience: licensed or formerly licensed agent/broker; new-home, land, or residential sales; existing realtor and builder relationships.
- Current or former loan officer / mortgage originator: construction-to-permanent, FHA/VA/USDA, conventional, or portfolio lending experience; ability to pre-qualify buyers and speak fluently about down payment, credit, appraisal, and draw schedules.
- Prior sales in modular, manufactured, panelized, or factory-built housing; or stick-built new-home sales for a production or custom builder.
- Experience selling to developers, land owners, or commercial owner-occupants.
- Knowledge of site work, foundations, set/crane logistics, and local permitting.
- Existing book of business or referral network in the assigned market.
Benefits
Competitive base plus commission and/or bonus tied to closed contracts and revenue. Exact mix, draw, and benefits to be confirmed in the offer. High performers in this role typically earn well above base through deal volume and referral networks.
