Job Description
Account management (Sephora, FSS and other retail partners)
- Own the day-to-day relationship with Sephora, FSS and other Indonesian retail partners, from store level up to buyers and category managers.
- Agree annual and quarterly sell-out targets per account and door, and drive delivery against them.
- Negotiate and secure in-store visibility: counter space, gondola ends, window and promotional placements, and inclusion in retailer events and catalogues.
- Plan and run joint business reviews with each account, covering performance, upcoming launches, promotions and stock.
- Work with Supply Chain and the accounts to keep stock levels healthy, flag stock-outs early and manage slow-moving inventory.
- Make sure retailer promotions, pricing and mechanics are executed correctly in every door.
In-store experience and brand standards
- Deliver a best-in-class, consistent brand experience in every Indonesia door, in line with SEA and global standards.
- Conduct regular store visits to audit visual merchandising compliance, tester hygiene, counter cleanliness, product availability and service quality.
- Execute launches, campaigns, events and animations in store on time and to brand standard.
- Lead over-the-counter events such as masterclasses and makeovers, and support offsite trade events and pop-ups.
- Gather customer and staff feedback from the floor and share actionable insights with the Retail Manager SEA and HQ.
Retail reporting and analysis
- Produce weekly and monthly retail reports by account and door: sell-out versus target, year-on-year growth, units per transaction, average transaction value, conversion and BA productivity.
- Track the performance and return on every event, promotion, TOA and GWP activation.
- Analyse trends by door, category and hero product, and recommend actions to close gaps.
- Present monthly performance reviews and forecasts to the Retail Manager SEA and the local leadership team.
TOAs and GWPs
- Plan the annual and seasonal calendar of TOAs (tokens of appreciation) and GWPs (gifts with purchase) to support launches, key retail moments and loyalty.
- Forecast quantities by account and door, place orders in time, and allocate stock based on traffic and sales potential.
- Set clear redemption mechanics and thresholds, and brief the retail team so every gift is used correctly.
- Track redemption, stock movement and leftover inventory, and reconcile against budget after each activation.
Incentive and commission plans
- Design, cost and run incentive and commission plans for Beauty Advisors and Counter Managers, aligned with commercial targets and budget.
- Set clear, motivating and fair targets at individual and counter level, and communicate the scheme so every team member understands how to earn.
- Calculate and verify monthly payouts accurately and on time, working with HR and Finance.
- Run short-term contests and spiffs around launches and key retail moments.
- Review the plans each quarter and adjust based on results and team feedback.
Team leadership, morale and engagement
- Lead and manage the full-time and part-time retail team across all Indonesia doors.
- Recruit, onboard and retain high-calibre Beauty Advisors and Counter Managers, working with HR.
- Plan and optimise rosters to cover traffic peaks, events and launches while controlling labour cost.
- Keep team morale high through regular check-ins, recognition, team gatherings and a clear career path.
- Run monthly one-to-ones and twice-yearly performance reviews, and manage underperformance promptly and fairly.
- Monitor attrition and engagement, and act on what the team says.
Training and selling techniques
- Make sure every team member is trained in the brand's selling ceremony, product knowledge and artistry techniques.
- Coach on the floor: observe consultations, give real-time feedback, and role-play selling, upselling and cross-selling.
- Partner with the Education team to deliver launch training, masterclasses and refresher sessions.
- Track training completion and link skills development to sales results and mystery shopper scores.
Operations and cross-functional work
- Manage distribution of samples, testers and point-of-sale materials to doors on time.
- Keep local processes aligned with SEA standards for consistency and efficiency.
- Partner with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Education, Supply Chain, Finance and HR for seamless execution.
- Manage the Indonesia retail budget for events, TOAs, GWPs, incentives and headcount.
Requirements
Experience
- 6 or more years in beauty, luxury or premium retail in Indonesia, including at least 3 years managing multi-door retail teams.
- Proven experience managing key retail accounts such as Sephora, department stores or travel retail in Indonesia.
- Hands-on experience designing and running incentive and commission schemes.
- Track record of delivering sales targets and improving in-store standards.
- Experience in a distributor model, managing a brand on behalf of a brand principal, is an advantage.
Skills
- Strong commercial and analytical skills; confident with Excel and retail reporting tools.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with retail partners.
- Strong coaching ability, with a deep understanding of selling ceremonies and clienteling.
- Organised planner who can manage budgets, stock and multiple launches at once.
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English, written and spoken.
Attributes
- Passionate about beauty, makeup and skincare, and about the customer experience.
- Energetic, hands-on leader who spends time on the shop floor.
- Builds a positive, motivated team culture.
- Comfortable in a fast-growing, fast-paced environment.
- Willing to work weekends, public holidays and evenings for key retail events.
- Degree in Business, Retail Management or a related field preferred.
