Requirements
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will build, operate, and improve cloud infrastructure supporting Python and Java applications. You will work closely with development teams to ensure reliable services, secure deployments, effective observability, and efficient resource usage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain multi-AZ AWS cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, and databases.
- Build and operate Docker-based containerized applications and microservices in production.
- Troubleshoot Python and Java applications, resolving memory, concurrency, and performance issues.
- Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Develop automated CI/CD pipelines with integrated security scanning and testing.
- Implement zero-downtime deployment strategies, including blue/green, canary, and rolling updates.
- Centralize logging, metrics, tracing, and alerts using observability tools.
- Configure application and cluster autoscaling based on load testing and usage metrics.
- Implement resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and dead-letter queues.
- Define disaster recovery plans (RTO/RPO) and enforce security best practices across IAM and encryption.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must-Haves
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps/SRE roles managing production AWS environments (EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, RDS).
- Strong expertise with Docker containerization and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Solid operational knowledge troubleshooting Python (Gunicorn/Celery) and Java (JVM, thread pools, GC) runtimes.
- Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and safe deployment strategies (blue/green, canary).
- Hands-on proficiency with observability tools (CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Loki), DR concepts (RTO/RPO), and Python/Bash scripting.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with advanced autoscaling based on queue depth, message age, or custom application metrics.
- Experience with capacity planning, sizing, and resource tuning for CPU, memory, storage, and IOPS.
- Relevant AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or Solutions Architect – Professional).
