The posting

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with an active Florida PE license to lead electrical engineering and design for high-rise commercial and complex building projects. This role is ideal for an experienced MEP engineer who can independently manage electrical design deliverables, provide technical leadership, and work closely with other disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.

Projects may include high-rise office buildings, condominiums, hotels, municipal facilities, airports, industrial buildings, and other complex commercial facilities.

Candidates currently working for MEP consulting firms in South Florida are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering and design for high-rise commercial, residential, hospitality, and other complex building projects.
  • Develop, review, and oversee electrical construction documents, drawings, calculations, specifications, and design packages.
  • Produce and coordinate electrical designs using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Perform and review electrical load calculations, equipment selections, power distribution, lighting, and other building electrical systems.
  • Provide senior-level technical guidance and resolve electrical design and coordination issues.
  • Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, and other project disciplines.
  • Review designs for code compliance, technical accuracy, constructability, and overall quality.
  • Communicate with project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Support projects through construction documentation, revisions, RFIs, and technical design changes.
  • Apply professional engineering judgment and Florida PE credentials to project design and deliverables.
  • Mentor and provide technical direction to less-experienced engineers and designers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in an MEP consulting environment.
  • Active Florida PE license required.
  • Proven experience designing electrical systems for high-rise buildings and complex commercial projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of electrical building systems, applicable codes, engineering standards, and design practices.
  • Experience with projects such as high-rise offices, condominiums, hotels, airports, municipal facilities, industrial buildings, or similar complex structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own electrical engineering and design deliverables.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills across multiple project disciplines.
  • South Florida MEP consulting experience strongly preferred.
  • Candidates without substantial commercial/high-rise electrical design experience will not be considered.

Benefits

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.

Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
