Senior Healthcare Recruiter
Location: South Africa Job Type: Full-Time, Remote Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST Salary: R 30,500–33,000
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Healthcare Recruiter to take ownership of recruiting clinical talent, with a particular focus on Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other healthcare/clinical professionals.
This is not an entry-level recruitment position. We are looking for someone who can operate independently, take initiative and potentially grow into owning the recruitment function as the company expands into additional states.
The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, interviewing and assessing high-quality clinical candidates, managing the recruitment process from initial outreach through placement, and helping build a strong and scalable clinical talent pipeline.
You will need to be a people person, excellent communicator and critical thinker who can make good recruitment decisions without needing to be closely managed.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end recruitment process for BCBA, RBT and other healthcare/clinical positions.
- Source qualified candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, databases, referrals and other recruitment channels.
- Conduct initial screening and structured interviews with candidates.
- Conduct interviews with BCBA candidates and assess their experience, communication and overall suitability.
- Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines across multiple states.
- Proactively identify and engage high-quality passive candidates.
- Manage candidates throughout the recruitment process and ensure a strong candidate experience.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and candidate profiles.
- Assess candidates against both technical requirements and cultural fit.
- Provide clear candidate recommendations and recruitment feedback.
- Track recruitment activity, pipeline progress and hiring outcomes.
- Identify bottlenecks in the recruitment process and take action to improve them.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to support the company's expansion.
- Take ownership of recruitment targets and timelines.
- Help establish and improve recruitment processes as the company grows.
- Potentially take on broader responsibility for the clinical recruitment function as the business expands.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of recruitment experience, with strong experience in healthcare, clinical, medical, staffing or a related recruitment environment.
- Proven experience sourcing and interviewing candidates independently.
- Experience recruiting healthcare professionals, clinical professionals, BCBAs, RBTs or similar specialised talent is highly advantageous.
- Strong LinkedIn Recruiter and sourcing experience.
- Excellent interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Confident speaking with candidates at different levels of seniority.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
- Critical thinker who can make sound decisions rather than simply following instructions.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple vacancies and candidate pipelines.
- Comfortable working towards recruitment targets and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable working with US-based clients and candidates.
Leadership & Ownership
This position is suited to someone who wants ownership, not someone looking to simply work underneath a manager with every task assigned to them.
The successful candidate should be able to:
- Take a role from sourcing through to placement.
- Identify what needs to be done and take action without waiting to be asked.
- Make recommendations around sourcing and recruitment strategy.
- Identify problems within the recruitment process and suggest solutions.
- Take responsibility for recruitment outcomes.
- Potentially mentor or support other recruiters as the function grows.
- Grow into a position where they can help lead and develop the recruitment department.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is:
- Smart and commercially aware
- A genuine people person
- A strong communicator
- Confident but not arrogant
- Proactive and self-motivated
- A critical thinker
- Highly organised
- Comfortable making decisions
- Hungry to learn and grow
- Able to work independently
- Comfortable taking ownership and accountability
You should be someone who can look at a recruitment challenge and think "How do I solve this?", rather than waiting for someone else to tell you what to do.
