• Develop and maintain a media activity calendar and a working pipeline of story opportunities, announcements, data releases, events, executive perspectives, regional proof points, partner stories, and timely issue-based angles.

• Prepare executives, subject-matter experts, speakers, and partners for local interviews and publicfacing opportunities through concise background materials, talking points, anticipated questions, logistics, and post-engagement follow-up.

• Monitor local media coverage and regional conversation; identify opportunities, emerging issues, risks, and recommendations for GBC’s response or proactive engagement.

• Coordinate external vendors and internal contributors supporting graphic design, photography, video, printing, web development, paid promotion, and other assigned communications projects.

Cross-Functional Leadership and Operations

• Serve as a senior project manager for assigned marketing and communications initiatives, creating clear scopes, timelines, roles, deliverables, decision points, approval workflows, and follow-up systems.

• Convene effective internal and external working meetings; document decisions, clarify ownership, track commitments, and surface risks or resource needs early with recommended solutions.

• Ensure communications work is integrated with organization-wide plans and reflects consistent messages across media relations, digital channels, events, publications, presentations, partner communications, and web platforms.

• Support crisis communications and rapid-response work as directed by the Vice President of Communications, including local media coordination, monitoring, draft materials, and social-media support.

• Proven ability to translate complex organizational priorities, data, programs, and stakeholder activity into clear, compelling, audience-appropriate narratives.

• Excellent writing, copyediting, proofreading, verbal communication, and presentation skills.

• Strong project-management capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities, establish structure, meet deadlines, and follow work through to completion.

• Sound judgment, discretion, responsiveness, and comfort working with senior executives, members, public officials, media, external partners, and vendors.
