The posting

At OQC, we aren’t just theorising about the future; we’re building it. Born from a philosophy of bold innovation, we’ve transitioned quantum computing from an academic ambition into a commercial reality - and we’re just getting started.

The Purpose

Own OQC’s global marketing campaigns, shaping our market position and accelerating our brand presence, PR profile and commercial growth.

As our Senior Marketing Manager, you’ll manage the end-to-end strategy and execution of high-impact campaigns across digital channels, press and events - bringing technical storytelling to life while ensuring brand consistency and strategic alignment with our wider business goals.

Working closely with commercial, product and technical teams, you’ll support revenue growth through targeted account-based marketing and sales enablement, using strategic messaging to drive engagement and conversion. You’ll track performance, report on impact and continuously optimise campaigns through data-driven decision-making, ensuring every campaign strengthens OQC’s leadership position in the market.

The Role

Working within Commercial and Marketing, you’ll combine marketing strategy, creative direction and hands-on campaign delivery. You’ll bring together global and local activity, ensuring OQC’s brand, technical stories and commercial messaging work together across markets and channels.

You’ll line-manage one or two Marketing Managers, developing their capabilities, setting clear priorities and ensuring they understand how their work contributes to OQC’s corporate strategy. You’ll provide direction and constructive feedback while maintaining high standards across the team’s output.

Alongside leading your team and coordinating agencies and suppliers, you’ll remain directly involved in the work: developing campaigns, reviewing content, independently managing HubSpot and supporting the promotional and practical delivery of events.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Develop and lead a multi-channel marketing strategy that reflects OQC’s global and local positioning, translating corporate priorities into coordinated campaigns and clear direction for your team.
  • Champion the OQC brand across external communications, creating and reviewing content across newsletters, social media, websites, blogs and promotional materials, while ensuring scientific review and appropriate senior approval before publication.
  • Lead OQC’s public relations strategy and delivery, developing press releases and pitches, coordinating distribution and working with leadership, technical experts and agencies to increase awareness in target markets.
  • Develop and lead account-based marketing and lead-generation activity, working closely with Commercial on value proposition, messaging and sales enablement to support revenue generation and pipeline growth.
  • Independently manage HubSpot workflows, automations, campaigns and reporting, using HubSpot, GA4 and AgilityPR to assess engagement, commercial impact and return on investment, and present recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Manage suppliers, briefs and associated budgets, supporting Marketing Managers with event promotion, logistics and materials, including on-site set-up, breakdown and coordination.
  • Lead and develop your Marketing Managers through clear objectives, workload prioritisation and regular feedback, ensuring company strategy is understood and reflected in consistent, high-quality work.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience developing marketing strategies and independently leading integrated campaigns from initial planning through to execution, measurement and optimisation.
  • Direct line-management experience, including setting objectives, prioritising workloads, providing constructive feedback and supporting professional development.
  • Experience delivering account-based marketing or lead-generation activity in close partnership with sales or commercial teams.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience developing engaging scientific or technical content alongside deeply knowledgeable subject-matter experts.
  • Hands-on HubSpot expertise, including building workflows, managing marketing automation and producing campaign reports.
  • Practical experience across email marketing, social media, press and media activity.
  • Strong analytical skills and a track record of using data to demonstrate results, improve campaign performance and optimise return on investment.
  • Experience managing global, multi-channel marketing projects and delivering marketing activity within a start-up environment.
  • Experience building and maintaining supplier relationships, managing briefs and budgets, and ensuring work meets expectations.
  • The strategic judgement to set direction, the initiative to turn ideas into action and the attention to detail to maintain quality across competing priorities.

The ‘Nice-to-Haves’

  • Marketing experience within quantum computing, deep technology or a research-and-development-led organisation.
  • Previous experience managing other Marketing Managers.
  • Familiarity with GA4 and AgilityPR.
  • Knowledge of search-engine optimisation and its role within an integrated marketing strategy.
  • A Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification, such as CIM Level 4 or the Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing.

Why Join OQC

You’ll take ownership of campaigns that bring OQC’s technology and ambitions to the world - shaping our market position, building our brand and strengthening the connection between scientific innovation and commercial opportunity.

Working closely with technical experts, commercial colleagues and leadership, you’ll have the opportunity to lead the strategy, develop the people behind it and stay close to the creative work. From the stories we tell to the campaigns we deliver, you’ll help shape how OQC is seen and understood across our target markets.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
