This long-standing business unit is a leading manufacturer of process equipment which is sold into many domestic and international markets including mining, recycling, cement, food processing, and other material handling and manufacturing industries.

We are looking for a highly driven Senior Product Design Engineer who thrives on solving complex engineering challenges, leading projects, influencing teams, and delivering innovative products from concept to reality.

This is not a role for someone who waits for instructions. We are seeking a proactive engineering leader who identifies opportunities, drives accountability, improves products, and takes ownership of delivering results.

Requirements

Product Design & Development

  • Lead the design and development of industrial equipment, custom-engineered products, and project-specific solutions.
  • Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, detailed engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Develop and optimize designs using Autodesk Inventor and other engineering tools.
  • Perform engineering calculations, structural analysis, and design validation.
  • Review designs with Global Engineering experts and internal stakeholders.

Engineering Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Drive engineering best practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support team development while ensuring timely and high-quality project execution.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and accountability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Service, and Global Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with customers for technical discussions, design approvals, and project requirements.
  • Resolve technical queries related to production, installation, commissioning, and customer support.

Cost Optimization & Innovation

  • Drive Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities without compromising product performance or quality.
  • Support product benchmarking, standardization, and continuous design improvements.

Customer & Site Support

  • Visit customer sites when required to support installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and product enhancements.
  • Act as the engineering expert in resolving complex technical challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (B.E. / B.Tech).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial equipment, machinery, heavy engineering, or engineered product design.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D CAD platforms.
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Sheet Metal Design
  • Structural Design
  • Assemblies & Large Assembly Management
  • Manufacturing Drawings
  • Product Customization
  • Strong understanding of: Fabrication| Welding| Machining| Manufacturing Processes| Assembly Techniques
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, engineering standards, and design documentation systems, Industrial Equipment Design, Autodesk Inventor ,FEA Product Development |.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 Quality Management environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
