About Casual Fridays

Casual Fridays is a hospitality-focused marketing agency specializing in social media, content creation, paid social, and digital marketing for hotels, resorts, and travel brands across the United States.

We're looking for a creative, outgoing, and reliable New Orleans-based content creator to capture the hotels, food, culture, and local experiences that make the city a destination worth exploring.

About the Role

This is a content capture role, not a social media management position. Our internal creative team handles editing, publishing, and strategy. Your focus will be capturing compelling photography and video, discovering unique local moments, and delivering organized assets for our team to use in social media campaigns.

You'll receive creative direction and shot lists, but we also want someone who brings ideas to the table, recognizes great content opportunities, and knows how to capture authentic moments that tell a story.

This flexible, part-time contractor opportunity involves approximately 25–30 hours per month, including local content visits, asset organization, and occasional meetings. Most work takes place at hotels and nearby attractions throughout New Orleans, with occasional evening or weekend events. Off-site work can be completed remotely.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Photography & Video Capture

  • Capture high-quality iPhone photography and video for hotels, resorts, restaurants, attractions, and local experiences.
  • Follow creative briefs and shot lists while independently identifying additional storytelling opportunities.
  • Capture engaging footage for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and other social platforms.
  • Stay aware of New Orleans events, seasonal happenings, and social trends that could inspire timely content.

On-Site Content Visits

  • Coordinate and conduct content visits at assigned properties and local destinations.
  • Build positive relationships with hotel staff, client contacts, and Casual Fridays team members.
  • Occasionally capture special events, festivals, hotel activations, and community experiences.
  • Represent Casual Fridays professionally while working independently or alongside our team.

Content Delivery & Collaboration

  • Organize and upload photos and video footage according to our established workflows.
  • Deliver assets on time and communicate proactively about scheduling, content needs, and project updates.
  • Participate in occasional team or client meetings.

Note: Photo editing and producing finished short-form videos are not required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience creating engaging photography and video for social media.
  • Strong iPhone photography and videography skills, with a good eye for lighting, composition, and storytelling.
  • Creative, proactive, and comfortable bringing new ideas to the table.
  • Outgoing, personable, and confident working independently with hotel and hospitality teams.
  • Organized, dependable, and a strong communicator.
  • Based in the New Orleans area with reliable transportation and an iPhone Pro.
  • Flexible availability for local content visits and occasional evening or weekend events.

Preferred

  • Experience creating content for hotels, restaurants, travel, tourism, or other brands.
  • Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and short-form video trends.
  • Strong knowledge of New Orleans neighborhoods, attractions, dining, and local culture.
  • A portfolio showcasing photography, video, or social media content.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Compensation: $1,500 per month (flat-rate contractor fee).
  • Time commitment: Approximately 25–30 hours per month.
  • Schedule: Flexible, with content visits coordinated around client needs and your availability.
  • Location: New Orleans area, with remote flexibility for asset organization and delivery.
  • Expenses: Pre-approved content-related expenses are reimbursable in accordance with the contractor agreement.
