The posting

We are seeking an experienced Source Inspector to inspect manufactured components and assemblies before shipment to a U.S.-based industrial fabrication company.

Working onsite in Monclova, you will verify that products meet engineering drawings, specifications, approved revisions, and quality requirements. You will identify defects, document inspection results, and help prevent nonconforming products from reaching downstream production.

The scope includes fabricated metal components, welded structures, frames, panels, enclosures, sheet-metal parts, machined components, and mechanical or electrical assemblies.

This is a practical inspection position working closely with Supplier Quality Management, Supplier Quality Engineering, and manufacturing teams.

The role is based in an industrial manufacturing environment involving fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly. Activities include standing and walking for extended periods, using measuring tools, and following required personal protective equipment and site safety procedures.

Candidates based in Monclova or surrounding areas are encouraged to apply. Candidates from other locations must be willing and able to work onsite in Monclova.

Apply with your updated resume highlighting your fabrication inspection experience, measuring instruments used, and availability to work in Monclova.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections of fabricated products and assemblies.
  • Verify product identification, quantities, purchase order requirements, drawing revisions, and applicable specifications before inspection.
  • Inspect dimensions, workmanship, weld appearance, surface finishes, and assembly quality against approved requirements.
  • Perform basic functional checks when specified in the inspection plan.
  • Use calibrated measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, indicators, tape measures, and squares.
  • Confirm that engineering changes and approved revisions have been correctly implemented.
  • Review material certificates, supplier inspection records, test results, and traceability documentation.
  • Identify and document nonconforming products through clear descriptions, measurements, photographs, and references to requirements.
  • Initiate or support Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and promptly escalate issues affecting quality, fit, function, or shipment timing.
  • Support containment, sorting, reinspection, and verification of supplier corrections.
  • Withhold product release when requirements are not met or supporting evidence is incomplete, following established procedures and delegated authority.
  • Prepare complete inspection reports and submit supporting documentation within 24 hours of inspection completion.
  • Maintain accurate, traceable records in the designated quality or ERP system.
  • Follow ISO 9001-based quality procedures, document-control requirements, and site safety rules.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing quality, source inspection, receiving inspection, fabrication inspection, or supplier quality.
  • Demonstrated experience inspecting fabricated metal products or assemblies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, specifications, tolerances, and inspection instructions.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T, including its application to drawings using ASME Y14.5.
  • Practical experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 principles, document control, traceability, and control of nonconforming products.
  • Experience documenting quality issues, preparing NCRs, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and the ability to learn ERP and quality-management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and production teams.
  • Availability to work onsite in Monclova, Coahuila.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience inspecting weldments, structural frames, sheet metal, electrical enclosures, busbar assemblies, or mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with weld inspection, surface finishes, coatings, and assembly verification.
  • ISO 9001 internal-auditor training or equivalent quality-system experience.
  • Experience with first-article inspection, sampling plans, and supplier inspection activities.
  • Familiarity with 8D, root cause analysis, 5 Why, and basic statistical process control.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work with an established U.S.-based industrial fabrication company.
  • Exposure to diverse metal fabrication and electromechanical assembly projects.
  • Close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams.
  • Opportunity to strengthen your technical inspection and quality-control expertise.
  • A meaningful role in ensuring product quality and supporting successful project delivery.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
