General Position Summary
The Senior Manager, General Affairs and Corporate Initiatives plays a key role in supporting a broad range of corporate initiatives, General Affairs activities, and cross-functional projects across the organization.
Working closely with the Vice President, General Affairs and other internal stakeholders, this position helps coordinate company-wide initiatives, supports corporate communications and administrative activities, and serves as a liaison with the company’s headquarters in Japan and affiliated companies.
The successful candidate will be a proactive and versatile professional who is comfortable working across functions, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of projects from planning through execution. This role offers broad exposure to senior management and various aspects of corporate operations within a multinational organization.
Essential Job Functions
1. Corporate Initiatives & Project Management
· Lead and coordinate cross-functional corporate initiatives and special projects.
· Work with management and internal stakeholders to identify issues, develop solutions, and support implementation.
· Develop project plans, coordinate stakeholders, and help ensure timely execution and follow- through.
· Support initiatives involving organizational effectiveness, workplace operations, policies, processes, and other corporate matters.
· Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and ways of working.
2. Corporate Communications & External Relations
· Coordinate and support internal and external corporate communications.
· Support the company’s website, social media, corporate announcements, presentations, and
other communication materials.
· Coordinate with management, headquarters, affiliated companies, and external stakeholders on communications and public relations activities.
· Support external inquiries, meetings, visits, and other corporate relations activities
3. Headquarters & Executive Coordination
· Serve as a key liaison between the U.S. organization, headquarters in Japan, and affiliated companies.
· Coordinate corporate initiatives and requests involving headquarters and the U.S. organization.
· Support visits and activities involving executives and senior management.
· Prepare and coordinate schedules, briefing materials, meetings, and other arrangements as needed.
4. General Affairs & Employee Engagement
· Support the Vice President, General Affairs in coordinating company-wide administrative and employee engagement activities.
· Work closely with the administrative team on office operations, facilities, vendors, company events, workplace initiatives, and other General Affairs matters.
· Support the development and improvement of administrative policies, procedures, and internal guidelines.
· Help coordinate company-wide initiatives related to workplace operations, employee safety, business continuity, and organizational effectiveness.
5. Corporate Planning & Management Support
· Provide support for corporate planning, management reporting, governance, and other management-related activities as needed.
· Assist with management materials, corporate reporting, headquarters requests, and other cross- functional assignments.
· Support senior management on special projects and emerging business needs.
Requirements
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Communications, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
· Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in corporate administration, General Affairs, project management, corporate communications, corporate planning, or related areas.
· Native-level Japanese language proficiency and strong professional English communication skills.
· Experience coordinating projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
· Strong organizational, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels.
· Sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
· Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other standard business applications.
Preferred experience
· Experience working in a multinational, Japanese-affiliated, or cross-cultural business environment.
· Experience supporting cross-functional corporate initiatives or projects.
· Experience working with senior management and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
· Exposure to corporate communications, General Affairs, corporate planning, or related corporate functions is a plus.
