The posting

The VP Asset Management is responsible for maximizing the utilization and return on the company's rental equipment assets through effective inventory management, equipment movement, INDEX management, purchasing and disposal analysis, and oversight of the Asset Management, Order Admin and related functions.

Requirements

1. OPTIMIZES EQUIPMENT ROI AND UTILIZATION

  • Preparing and maintaining utilization reporting used to evaluate equipment performance.
  • Monitoring rental SKU utilization, shop-to-shop transfer and cross rental activity.
  • Establishing target utilization levels by asset class.
  • Identifying underperforming or constrained equipment categories.
  • Using utilization and cost information to support equipment purchase, movement and disposal decisions.

2. OVERSEES ASSET MANAGEMENT TEAM

  • Developing and managing tools and processes for the Asset Management team.
  • Managing the day-to-day performance of the Asset Management team.
  • Establishing priorities and performance expectations.
  • Ensuring Asset Management decisions support company utilization and ROI objectives.

3. MANAGES SHOP-TO-SHOP EQUIPMENT MOVEMENT AND COSTS

  • Overseeing the review of shop-to-shop equipment requests.
  • Reducing, rerouting or cancelling unnecessary equipment movements where appropriate.
  • Developing processes to reduce shop-to-shop freight expense.
  • Reviewing shop-to-shop costs and trends.
  • Balancing freight cost against equipment availability and business requirements.

4. MANAGES EQUIPMENT INDEX

  • Reviewing INDEX curves for continued accuracy.
  • Evaluating depreciation rates, utilization levels and E-code INDEX assignments.
  • Reviewing INDEX components including storage and shop multipliers.
  • Maintaining INDEX costs for new E-codes.
  • Investigating and resolving INDEX-related errors.
  • Providing data and analysis for manual INDEX adjustments.

5. MANAGES EQUIPMENT PURCHASE AND DISPOSAL ANALYSIS

  • Reviewing utilization and asset performance prior to recommending equipment purchases or disposals.
  • Reviewing ORPL equipment purchase requests and non-ORPL requests within established approval thresholds.
  • Managing the ORPL review process and maintaining accurate ORPL information in Nexus.
  • Determining recommended purchase quantities based on utilization, cross rental, shop-to-shop activity and expected demand.
  • Evaluating whether equipment purchases should be show-costed based on expected future utilization.
  • Partnering with the COO, Finance and Purchasing on significant capital decisions.

6. MANAGES USED EQUIPMENT SALES

  • Developing and managing the framework used to evaluate Used Gear performance.
  • Establishing minimum selling prices and maximum listing quantities.
  • Identifying equipment appropriate for disposal based on utilization, age, market value and company requirements.
  • Monitoring results from equipment disposal.

7. MANAGES NEXUS LIBRARIAN

  • Developing and managing tools and processes for the Nexus Librarian.
  • Managing day-to-day performance and priorities.
  • Ensuring equipment information within Nexus supports accurate operational and financial decision-making.

8. MANAGES ORDER ADMIN DEPARTMENT

  • Developing and managing tools and processes for the Order Admin department.
  • Managing day-to-day performance and priorities of the Order Admin team.
  • Ensuring Order Admin processes effectively support company operations.

9. PROVIDES ASSET PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS

  • Providing the COO and CEO with regular visibility into asset utilization and performance.
  • Identifying trends and opportunities requiring management attention.
  • Providing asset data and analysis for broader company financial and operational decisions.
  • Measuring the results of significant equipment purchase, movement and disposal decisions
