Job Title: Area Sales Manager (Paint Plastic Manufacturing)

Location: Aba, Abia State

Reports to: Director

Job Summary

Our client, a plastic manufacturing company, seeks a results-driven Area Sales Manager to drive sales, expand distribution, and grow its dealer network across South-East and South-South Nigeria. The role focuses on increasing sales of paint buckets, drums, and other plastic products, securing B2B customers, and minimizing bad debt.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales volume and revenue growth for paint buckets, drums, and other plastic products, meeting monthly targets.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage at least 30 dealers and distributors across Aba, Onitsha, Port Harcourt, Uyo, Calabar, Benin, and Enugu.
  • Generate new business and secure bulk orders from paint manufacturers, chemical dealers, food and agro companies, traders, and other B2B customers.
  • Manage customer accounts and collections, prioritizing cash sales and credit terms of seven days or less to minimize bad debt.
  • Strengthen brand visibility, market penetration, and product availability across dealer networks and markets.
  • Monitor competitor pricing, market trends, new products, and customer feedback, providing weekly reports.
  • Communicate customer needs and market insights to the Operations team to support product improvements and development.

Requirements

  • HND/BSc in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years' sales experience in plastics, packaging, domestic plastic products, or building materials.
  • Proven experience selling through dealers and distributors, with an established dealer network across South-East and South-South Nigeria.
  • Strong B2B sales, prospecting, negotiation, distribution, and route-to-market skills.
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and capable of acquiring new customers and growing sales.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills and willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory.
