Engineer III, Provisioning & Services

Help engineer the connections businesses count on.

From reliable internet and voice to managed Wi-Fi, businesses depend on connectivity that keeps them moving. At WOW!, you’ll help bring those services to life by evaluating, testing, and supporting the devices that connect our small and medium-sized business customers.

As our Engineer III, Provisioning & Services, you’ll work hands-on with DOCSIS cable modems, PON optical network terminals (ONTs), and Wi-Fi gateways—from lab qualification and field trials to deployment and ongoing support. You’ll partner with Product Management, Network Engineering, equipment vendors, and Field Operations to introduce new technology, solve complex problems, and improve the customer experience.

What WOW! Offers

Base salary up to $120,000 annually, plus comprehensive benefits:

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Tuition reimbursement to support your continued development
  • Employee broadband discounts

What You’ll Do

  • Bring new devices to market. Evaluate and qualify DOCSIS 3.0/3.1/4.0 cable modems, GPON/XGS-PON ONTs, Wi-Fi gateways, and mesh extenders for business services.
  • Build reliable provisioning. Develop, validate, and maintain device configurations, firmware images, provisioning templates, and TR-069/TR-369 (USP) auto-configuration server (ACS) profiles.
  • Put performance to the test. Conduct lab and field testing to validate interoperability between customer premises equipment (CPE) and CMTS/OLT infrastructure.
  • Turn product ideas into technical solutions. Translate requirements for business internet, managed Wi-Fi, hosted voice, and SD-WAN into CPE specifications.
  • Solve challenging technical issues. Support Tier 2/3 and Field Operations teams with escalated connectivity, provisioning, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Improve device performance at scale. Monitor fleet health through network management and ACS platforms, identify recurring issues, and drive resolution.
  • Partner with vendors. Coordinate device certification, firmware qualification, and defect resolution.
  • Support deployment readiness. Create test plans, methods of procedure (MOPs), configuration standards, and knowledge articles; contribute to new product readiness reviews.
  • Maintain quality and compliance. Ensure devices meet applicable DOCSIS, PON, Wi-Fi Alliance, FCC, and UL/safety standards.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in CPE engineering, cable/telecom access network engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Working knowledge of DOCSIS 3.0/3.1/4.0 technology and cable modem provisioning.
  • Experience with GPON and/or XGS-PON technologies and ONT configuration and provisioning.
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi standards (802.11ac/ax), wireless gateways, and mesh Wi-Fi systems.
  • Hands-on experience with TR-069/TR-369 (USP) device management protocols and ACS platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting, lab testing, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • An understanding of business connectivity needs, including reliability and service-level agreement (SLA) expectations.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to manage projects and collaborate across technical and business teams.

Experience That Helps You Stand Out

  • Experience with CMTS and/or OLT infrastructure and access network architecture.
  • Python or Bash scripting for test automation and fleet monitoring.
  • Relevant vendor or industry certifications, such as CableLabs, BICSI, Calix, Nokia, Technicolor, or CommScope/ARRIS.
  • Experience supporting SD-WAN, hosted voice, or managed Wi-Fi services.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
