Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our Housekeeping team. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing hotel linens and towels while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laundry area.

This position plays an important role in supporting the Housekeeping department and ensuring Room Attendants have the clean linens and supplies needed to prepare guestrooms for our guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sort soiled towels, sheets, pillowcases, and other hotel linens.
  • Operate commercial washers and dryers according to hotel procedures.
  • Load and unload laundry equipment safely.
  • Fold and organize clean towels and linens.
  • Inspect clean laundry for stains, damage, or excessive wear.
  • Separate damaged or unusable linen for management review.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of clean linen for the Housekeeping department.
  • Keep laundry carts clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laundry room.
  • Clean lint traps and maintain laundry work areas as assigned.
  • Properly store laundry chemicals and supplies.
  • Notify management of equipment problems, leaks, unusual noises, or other maintenance concerns.
  • Follow proper procedures for handling chemicals and cleaning products.
  • Follow hotel safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Assist Housekeeping with linen distribution and collection as needed.
  • Communicate linen shortages or operational concerns promptly.
  • Work cooperatively with Room Attendants, Housekeeping Inspectors, and Housekeeping leadership.
  • Perform additional housekeeping duties as assigned based on hotel operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Previous hotel, laundry, housekeeping, or similar experience preferred, but not required.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

The Laundry Attendant should be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, reach, lift, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Handle loads of linens and towels throughout the shift.
  • Push and maneuver laundry carts.
  • Work around commercial laundry equipment and in a warm laundry-room environment.
  • Safely perform the physical responsibilities associated with the position.
