The posting

WSP is a global leader in engineering, specializing in infrastructure, transportation, environment, water, industry, energy, and buildings. WSP has a clear vision of how it wants to help improve the world by empowering communities and supporting what truly matters for our future. Imagine a better future for all of us, and a better future for you.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Workplace & Facilities Manager to lead the development and implementation of a consistent workplace operating model across France and Switzerland.

Reporting to the Head of Workplace, Central Europe & Middle East, you will play a key role in establishing the standards, governance, processes and performance framework required to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality workplace services across a diverse portfolio of offices.

This is a regional role combining strategic development with hands-on operational leadership. You will help mature and professionalise workplace operations, bringing greater consistency to service delivery, compliance, financial management, supplier performance, data and employee experience while recognising local market and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Workplace, Real Estate, Finance, Procurement, Health & Safety, HR, IT and other corporate functions, as well as local teams and external service partners.

The role will also contribute to wider regional and global workplace initiatives, including technology adoption, continuous improvement, supplier strategy and M&A integration.

What you'll do

Lead the development and implementation of a consistent Workplace & Facilities operating model across France and Switzerland, establishing standards, governance, processes and performance frameworks while balancing regional consistency with local requirements. Drive operational efficiency, service quality, employee experience and continuous improvement, while contributing to the wider Central Europe FM strategy, including sourcing and supply-chain development.

Lead the delivery and performance of FM and workplace services across the portfolio, establishing SLAs, KPIs, service standards and supplier performance. Oversee OPEX and CAPEX planning, forecasting and financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and value. Ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance, working closely with Health & Safety, technical teams and other stakeholders to manage risk, address non-conformities and maintain high operational standards.

Develop robust management information, reporting and performance dashboards covering cost, risk, service delivery and employee experience, leveraging CAFM/IWMS, workplace technology, analytics and digital solutions to improve decision-making. Support workplace transformation, relocations, estate projects and M&A integration, while driving improvements to processes, systems, supplier models and workplace services and ensuring effective adoption of new standards and ways of working.

What you'll bring

We are looking for an experienced workplace or facilities professional who combines strong operational knowledge with strategic thinking, commercial awareness and the ability to influence across a complex organisation.

You will ideally bring:

  • Significant experience in Facilities Management, Workplace Management, Corporate Real Estate or a related discipline, preferably within a complex, multi-site corporate environment.
  • Experience managing or influencing FM operations across multiple locations and/or countries.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate real estate and workplace best practice, including service delivery, supplier management, contract management and operational governance.
  • Proven experience managing outsourced FM or integrated facilities management service-provider frameworks.
  • Strong commercial and financial capability, including experience managing OPEX and CAPEX budgets, forecasts and supplier performance.
  • Experience developing and implementing operating models, standards, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Good understanding of workplace compliance, risk management, Health & Safety and statutory requirements.
  • Experience working with FM contracts, service agreements, leases and related property or workplace documentation.
  • Strong analytical capability and confidence using management information to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Experience with CAFM/IWMS systems and workplace technology, with an interest in using data and digital solutions to improve service delivery.
  • Experience supporting workplace projects, change programmes, relocations or M&A integration would be advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of workplace sustainability, energy efficiency, carbon reduction and relevant building or environmental standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and workplace/FM management systems.

Languages

  • Fluent French and English are essential.
  • German language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.

Education & professional experience

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Facilities Management, Real Estate, Engineering, Business, Construction, Workplace Management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Typically 8+ years' relevant experience in Facilities, Workplace, Corporate Real Estate or related environments, including significant experience working with corporate facilities and outsourced service providers.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience, either through direct people management or through leading cross-functional teams, suppliers and stakeholders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
