The Cook position is part of the Dietary Department, working approximately XX hours per two-week pay period. Includes weekend and holiday rotations, with hours that may flex based on department needs. The Cook plays an essential role in preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, staff, and visitors. Flexibility is important, as hours may vary depending on departmental needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Coursework in food preparation, sanitation, and cooking methods is a plus
- Previous experience in large-scale food preparation (restaurant, school, or healthcare setting) preferred
- Must hold or be willing to obtain ServSafe Certification
- Strong initiative, enthusiasm, and professional presence
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a focus on customer service and confidentiality
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals for patients, staff, and cafeteria service
- Assist with catering and special events as directed by the Food Service Director
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
- Perform additional dietary duties as assigned
- Serve as lead cook when the Food Service Director is not present
