The posting

Xendit is an enterprise payments platform powering complex financial operations across Southeast Asia and global markets. We provide a unified API layer combining payment processing, global payouts, localized FX, identity compliance, and fraud protection. As a trusted financial partner backed by top-tier global investors, Xendit processes high-throughput transaction flows for leading global platforms including Meta, Traveloka, ByteDance, Wise, and Grab, building resilient payment infrastructure to drive regional commerce forward.

About the Job

We are looking for a commercially minded, forward-thinking Regulatory Compliance and AML Manager to help shape the next phase of Xendit's growth in Singapore. This is an opportunity to go beyond traditional compliance oversight and play a meaningful role in building the regulatory infrastructure that enables a fast-growing payments business to scale responsibly.

You will take ownership of key regulatory and financial crime compliance responsibilities in Singapore, working closely with senior leadership, Product, Engineering, Risk and Commercial teams to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, scalable solutions.

We are looking for someone who combines deep regulatory expertise with strong systems thinking — someone who can navigate ambiguity, challenge existing processes and build frameworks that are both regulator-ready and operationally efficient.

This is a high-ownership individual contributor role with significant cross-functional exposure and the opportunity to develop into broader functional or regional leadership as the business evolves.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree-holder with minimum 7+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, AML/CFT or financial crime risk management within regulated financial services, payments or fintech.
  • Deep understanding of AML/CFT frameworks, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and financial crime risk management
  • Strong recent and working knowledge of Singapore's regulatory environment, including MAS requirements applicable to licensed Major Payment Institutions
  • Strong self-motivation and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Sound commercial judgment, with the ability to balance regulatory requirements, risk appetite and business objectives.
  • Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical operational controls and sustainable processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment, taking ownership of complex problems from ambiguity through execution.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience implementing or working with transaction monitoring systems and compliance tools.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in a high-growth fintech, payments infrastructure company or technology-led financial services business.
  • Demonstrated track record of building, scaling or transforming compliance frameworks, particularly in environments experiencing rapid growth or organizational change.
  • Familiarity with payment acceptance, acquiring, cross-border payments, payouts, e-money or platform-based payment models.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Engineering or Data teams to design or improve technology-enabled compliance controls.
  • Exposure to compliance automation, RegTech, AI-enabled workflows or transaction monitoring systems.
  • Experience operating across multiple APAC jurisdictions or supporting regional regulatory initiatives.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA or equivalent.

What you'll do

Own Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Continuously strengthen operational and procedural adherence to applicable MAS requirements, including the Payment Services Act (PSA), Financial Services and Markets Act (FSMA), relevant MAS Notices (e.g., PSN01, PSN02, PSN03) and other applicable notices
  • Lead regulatory engagement including license-related matters regulatory applications and variations, and ongoing submissions and supervisory examinations, serving as a trusted point of contact for the MAS and other relevant authorities
  • Proactively anticipate, interpret, and assess regulatory developments in Singapore and the broader APAC region, translating regulatory changes into actionable business, product and operational requirements for internal teams.
  • Drive a risk-based approach to regulatory governance, ensuring robust controls, clear accountability and effective oversight

Strengthen Financial Crime Risk Management

  • Oversee and enhance Xendit’s AML/CFT compliance framework, ensuring alignment with local statutory obligations and international regulatory standards.
  • Oversee enhanced due diligence (EDD), transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, periodic reviews and suspicious transaction reporting operational workflows, maintaining dynamic rules, identifying weaknesses in existing controls and driving sustainable and timely remediation through improved policies, processes and technology.
  • Apply sound judgment to complex merchant and transaction risk assessments, balancing regulatory expectations with commercial realities.
  • Partner with operational teams to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and scalability of financial crime controls.

Build Scalable Compliance Infrastructure

  • Translate regulatory obligations into scalable operating processes, technology-enabled controls and governance frameworks that support increasing transaction volumes and business complexity Partner with Product, Engineering and Operations to embed compliance requirements into product architecture, merchant onboarding and payment workflows.
  • Draft, update, and implement local compliance policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and governance frameworks.
  • Design and deliver localized AML/CFT frameworks that can be adapted across products to foster a high-standard compliance culture across all local operations.
  • Act as a strategic compliance partner to Product, Commercial and senior leadership teams on new products, partnerships and complex enterprise merchant requirements.

A Bonus Compliance Superpower

  • We're looking for someone who brings more than deep regulatory and AML/CFT expertise. Ideally, you have a second area of technical specialization that sets you apart! Whether that's
  • a deep understanding of payments infrastructure and fund flows
  • hands-on experience with compliance engineering and RegTech
  • expertise in data analytics and financial crime detection,
  • the ability to translate regulatory requirements into product architecture and technology-enabled controls
  • experience building transaction monitoring systems
  • lead complex licensing initiatives across multiple markets
  • or automated compliance processes at scale
  • We don't expect you to have all these capabilities. What excites us is someone who combines strong regulatory foundations with a distinctive technical skill set, and wants to apply both to building the next generation of compliance infrastructure at Xendit

Why join Xendit?

  • Build, don't just maintain. Help shape the compliance infrastructure of a growing payments platform, with the opportunity to solve complex regulatory challenges through technology and better systems.
  • Work at the intersection of regulation and innovation. Partner directly with the teams building payment products and infrastructure used by leading businesses across Southeast Asia.
  • Have meaningful ownership and influence. Take responsibility for critical regulatory outcomes, influence business decisions and work closely with senior stakeholders.
  • Grow into broader leadership. Develop the experience, relationships and track record to pursue future opportunities in functional leadership, regional compliance or larger transformation initiatives as the organization scales.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
