Your New Role

  • Work from Ellington, Connecticut, traveling to customer sites throughout the service territory
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and service industrial fuel tank systems and petroleum equipment
  • Perform tank tightness testing, cathodic protection testing, and product line testing
  • Inspect and test tank monitoring systems, leak detection systems, pump controllers, and containment sumps
  • Work with automatic tank gauges and fuel monitoring equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic components
  • Inspect pumps, piping, valves, and related fuel system components
  • Identify equipment deficiencies and clearly communicate findings
  • Complete accurate inspection reports, test results, and field service documentation
  • Follow established testing procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and assigned field vehicle
  • Communicate professionally with customers at job sites
  • Complete required paperwork and return documentation to the Ellington shop as scheduled
  • Travel, work overtime, extended hours, and overnight assignments when projects require it

  • 2+ years of professional field service, petroleum equipment, fuel system, mechanical, electrical, electronic, or closely related technical experience
  • Industrial fuel tank or petroleum equipment experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with a petroleum equipment service company such as OWL Services, WildcoPES, Service Station Equipment, or a similar company highly preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems
  • Tank tightness testing, cathodic protection, product line testing, or regulatory compliance testing experience highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Veeder-Root, Pneumercator, OMNTEC, automatic tank gauges, or similar fuel monitoring equipment is a plus
  • Ability to use computers or mobile devices for electronic field reports and service documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities
  • Professional customer service and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, extended hours, or overnight assignments as needed
  • Willingness to complete required technical and certification training
  • Must live within approximately 30 miles of Ellington, Connecticut
