  • On-Call Rotation: One weekend every five weeks.
  • Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with the company contributing 20% toward medical premiums for employees and their families.
  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with up to a 3% company match.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Quality Over Sales Pressure: Focus on honest service, professional workmanship, and building long-term relationships with homeowners.
  • Stay Close to Home: Serve customers within a local service area rather than spending hours traveling between distant locations.
  • Work With Experienced Professionals: Collaborate with knowledgeable technicians who value teamwork, practical problem-solving, and doing the job right.

Your New Role

  • Perform residential plumbing service calls throughout Northbrook, IL, and surrounding communities.
  • Diagnose and repair residential plumbing systems, including water supply lines, waste piping, drainage systems, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Install, replace, and repair faucets, sinks, toilets, and other residential plumbing components.
  • Perform drain cleaning, clear blockages, and restore proper drainage.
  • Handle kitchen plumbing trim work and assist with projects involving drain and gas lines as needed.
  • Identify plumbing issues, recommend appropriate repairs, and complete service calls efficiently.
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners about plumbing problems, repair recommendations, and completed work.
  • Manage assigned service calls independently while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
  • Collaborate with fellow plumbers and team members to complete work efficiently and maintain consistent service quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment in customers' homes.
  • Participate in the scheduled weekend on-call rotation approximately once every five weeks.
  • Represent Bill's Plumbing and Sewer with honesty, reliability, and respect for customers and their property.

Hiring Expectations: Apply today, complete a quick phone screening, and get ready for an interview with our team to discuss your goals and experience.

  • At least 2 years of hands-on residential plumbing experience, with 3–5 years preferred, ideally as a Service Plumber, Residential Plumber, or Plumbing Service Technician.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems, including water supply lines, waste piping, drain lines, fixtures, and common repairs.
  • Experience installing, replacing, and repairing residential plumbing fixtures.
  • Ability to diagnose plumbing issues, troubleshoot problems, and perform effective repairs.
  • Hands-on experience with drain cleaning and residential drainage systems.
  • Ability to complete residential plumbing service calls independently and manage assigned work efficiently.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, including the ability to explain plumbing issues and repair recommendations clearly to homeowners.
  • Dependable attendance and availability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a weekend on-call rotation once every five weeks.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, quality workmanship, and maintaining a professional appearance in customers' homes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
