Pay Range: $24-$34 per hour

REQUIRES random drug and alcohol testing throughout the year. The drug test screens for: Marijuana, Amphetamines, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine and semi-synthetic opioids: hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and oxymorphone.

Our precision Machining Operations are successful in CNY because we are low volume, high mix, and very tight tolerances. Our 80,000 square foot shop houses over 2 dozen CNC machines with a wide range of capabilities including 5 new machines over the last 2 years. We have a full manual machine shop along with precision grind, hone and deburr. Our entire workforce is under one roof including Design Engineering, R&D and Assembly & Test. We were founded in 1918 as Young & Franklin Tool Works on Franklin Street in Syracuse, but we’ve come a long way since then! We manufacture, assemble and test valves and actuators for the Aerospace and Power Generation markets. Position Summary

Perform visual and mechanical inspection of a variety of machined parts in different stages of completion. Complete related and required paperwork in accordance with company procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and visual inspection, including layout of components, to verify drawing acceptance.
  • Troubleshoot in collaboration with manufacturing, supplier quality, and design engineering to resolve problems.
  • Process and inspect paper work related to the product in order to move it to the next operation or inventory.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent; Technical degree a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints and experience in GD&T required.
  • Experience inspecting and measuring machined parts to tolerances of 5 thousandths or less.
  • Experience with surface plate techniques, various measuring devices, gauging methodology and quality procedures.
  • Knowledge of machining, CMM operation, and / or programming helpful.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word and Excel.
  • Meet vision requirements including near and distance vision acuity.
  • Work overtime as necessary.

May include frequent pulling, pushing, and grasping.
  • The primary environment of this position is the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and proper footwear.
