PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Mobile UI/UX Developer provides user interface, user experience, and front-end development support for enterprise application modernization efforts supporting the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). This individual is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and refining responsive and mobile-accessible user experiences that support Government business processes and operational requirements.

The Mobile UI/UX Developer works closely with Government stakeholders, business analysts, functional subject matter experts, developers, solution architects, and testing personnel to translate approved business and functional requirements into intuitive, accessible, and user-centered interfaces. This individual supports the user experience lifecycle from requirements analysis and prototyping through development, usability validation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain responsive and mobile-accessible user interfaces for enterprise applications.
  • Translate approved business, functional, and user requirements into intuitive user experiences, interface designs, and front-end functionality.
  • Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, user flows, and other design artifacts to communicate proposed user experiences.
  • Collaborate with Government stakeholders, business analysts, and Functional SMEs to understand user needs, operational workflows, and usability requirements.
  • Apply user-centered design principles to simplify complex workflows and support efficient completion of Government business processes.
  • Develop and maintain reusable user interface components and front-end functionality in accordance with established technical and design standards.
  • Ensure consistent user experiences across supported devices, screen sizes, browsers, and operating environments.
  • Apply responsive and mobile-first design principles to support desktop, tablet, and mobile access as required.
  • Incorporate accessibility requirements and usability best practices throughout interface design and development.
  • Support compliance with applicable Federal accessibility requirements, including Section 508.
  • Conduct or support usability reviews, user feedback sessions, demonstrations, and validation activities with project and Government stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft and Power Platform developers to integrate approved interface designs with application functionality, workflows, APIs, and supporting services.
  • Work with testing personnel to develop usability, accessibility, compatibility, and interface-related test scenarios and resolve identified defects.
  • Troubleshoot user interface, responsiveness, browser compatibility, accessibility, and usability issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical reviews, solution demonstrations, Agile ceremonies, and other project activities.
  • Maintain design and technical documentation, including wireframes, prototypes, interface specifications, design standards, and reusable component documentation.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), implementation, production readiness, transition, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Incorporate stakeholder and user feedback into iterative improvements to the user experience.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Experience supporting the Department of Justice (DOJ), EOIR, or other Federal civilian agencies.
  • Experience designing and developing user interfaces for enterprise application modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with responsive web and mobile-first design principles.
  • Experience with modern front-end development technologies and frameworks.
  • Experience developing wireframes, mockups, prototypes, user flows, and interactive designs.
  • Knowledge of user-centered design, usability, information architecture, and interaction design principles.
  • Experience translating business processes and functional requirements into intuitive digital experiences.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Experience conducting or supporting usability testing and incorporating user feedback into iterative designs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft-based application environments, including Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions.
  • Familiarity with API-driven applications and integration of front-end components with back-end services.
  • Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma or similar platforms.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar development and work management tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with business, functional, technical, and Government stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain the appropriate Department of Justice (DOJ) Public Trust Investigation (PTI) as required for the position.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and relevant professional experience in user experience design, user interface development, software development, information technology, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

PLACE OF PERFORMANCE

The principal place of performance will be EOIR Headquarters located in Falls Church, VA.
