As Excellence & Engagement Manager in the Global Health, Safety & Security Team, you will be part of the continuous strengthening of DFDS’ health, safety and security culture. This is a new global role, and we expect you to participate in shaping and developing it. We anticipate that you will contribute by developing, implementing and continuously improving the frameworks, standards, tools, learning processes, communications and engagement activities that enable a strong Health, Safety & Security (HSS) performance across DFDS landside operations.
You will be responsible for ensuring consistent and effective deployment of group-wide HSS initiatives across DFDS operations area, supporting operational teams in anchoring safe and secure behaviors. The role works closely with the HSS Business Partners, other operational stakeholders and senior management to strengthen organizational learning, capability, culture and performance.
The role reports directly to the Global Director for HSS, and you will be based at our Global Headquarters in the port of Copenhagen. The role requires on-site presence.
What kind of exciting challenges can you expect to meet in this role?:
As Excellence & Engagement Manager - HSS you will get the opportunity to influence and develop the role but the initial areas we expect you to cover are:
- Develop, coordinate and monitor global HSS initiatives.
- Develop, coordinate and maintain global HSS culture-building activities, campaigns and engagement programs aiming to strengthen safe and secure behaviors.
- Maintain and continuously improve our HSSEQ Management System.
- Develop, implement and continuously improve a Managers Toolkit on HSS.
- Manage Performance Monitoring and Improvement related to HSS in close collaboration with HSS Business Partners.
- Develop and coordinate DFDS’ organizational learning processes on HSS, ensuring learnings from incidents, audits etc. are translated into practical improvements and shared across the organization.
- Support leadership teams in understanding and applying HSS frameworks, standards and improvement methodologies.
- Build strong working relationships with operational leaders, local HSS teams, and functional stakeholders.
About you

- Natural collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence without direct authority.
- Strong organizing skills, bringing structure, governance and consistency to complex initiatives.
- Capability to operate between strategy and execution, balancing long-term objectives with day-to-day deliveries, in a global corporate function.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good listening abilities, and the ability to digest large amounts of information and convert it into actions.
- A self-driven approach, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a demanding environment.
Furthermore, you have:
- A degree in business, organizational development, safety or security management, or related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) within safety or security related functions in a global or matrixed organization.
- Experience in shipping, logistics, or industrial sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety/security culture principles and organizational behavior is an advantage.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of or certification in change management methodologies is a plus.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English (oral and written) as English is corporate language.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite.
- Experience in utilizing AI tools is an advantage.
