ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to provide hands-on support to our electrical and mechanical engineering teams working on our hearing aid devices. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with both electrical and mechanical components, has hands-on soldering and small-device assembly experience, and enjoys tackling a wide range of technical tasks in a fast-moving environment.
This position is full-time on-site in our New York City office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist electrical and mechanical engineers with a variety of hands-on technical tasks related to our hearing aid devices
- Build, modify, and rework hearing aid devices and components to support engineering and product development
- Perform soldering, wiring, mechanical assembly, and rework as needed
- Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and validation of devices and components
- Support the development and implementation of test equipment
- Support the development and implementation of test plans
- Assemble production devices as needed
- Support documentation, including SOPs and technical procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High-school diploma; associate degree or equivalent experience
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Hands-on experience in soldering (wires, not SMT)
- Proficiency in working with small devices and components
- General mechanical aptitude and comfort using basic hand tools
- Ability to work independently and manage a variety of tasks
- Strong work ethic, flexibility, and resourcefulness
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience working with medical devices
- Basic programming skills
- Solid modeling skills
- Experience with device testing, troubleshooting, or product development #LI-Onsite
