The posting

We are sharing a specialised remote consulting opportunity for Junior Software Engineers with strong expertise in software development, system design, debugging, algorithms, data structures, and code review to contribute their technical knowledge to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives.

Selected professionals will evaluate AI-generated code, develop challenging software engineering problems, and review technical reasoning across real-world programming scenarios. The work combines practical software development experience with code quality assessment, reference solution development, automated testing, and structured technical feedback to improve the coding and engineering capabilities of advanced AI systems. Prior experience with AI training projects is not required.

Key Responsibilities

Software Engineering & Code Evaluation

  • Evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, functionality, readability, and maintainability.
  • Review software implementations against defined technical requirements and engineering principles.
  • Identify programming errors, inefficient approaches, and weaknesses in code quality.
  • Assess the appropriateness of algorithms, data structures, and implementation decisions.
  • Provide accurate technical evaluations based on established software engineering practices.

Coding Challenge & Reference Solution Development

  • Design challenging programming problems that reflect realistic software engineering tasks.
  • Develop technically accurate reference solutions using appropriate programming approaches.
  • Create test cases that evaluate the correctness and completeness of coding solutions.
  • Formulate problems involving algorithms, data structures, debugging, and implementation logic.
  • Ensure coding challenges and reference answers support consistent technical evaluation.

System Design & Software Architecture Review

  • Review AI-generated reasoning concerning software architecture and system design.
  • Evaluate proposed designs for technical correctness, efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Assess how implementation choices affect software structure and system behaviour.
  • Identify weaknesses in architectural reasoning and proposed engineering approaches.
  • Explain appropriate software design decisions through clear technical analysis.

Debugging & Algorithmic Problem-Solving

  • Analyse code to identify implementation errors, logical inconsistencies, and potential defects.
  • Evaluate debugging strategies and the effectiveness of proposed software corrections.
  • Review algorithmic approaches and data structure selection for specific programming tasks.
  • Assess technical reasoning used to diagnose and resolve engineering problems.
  • Develop clear explanations of errors, corrections, and improved implementation approaches.

Technical Feedback & Quality Assurance

  • Provide detailed written feedback on AI-generated code and engineering solutions.
  • Document technical errors, design weaknesses, and recommended corrections.
  • Review coding responses for clarity, accuracy, and consistency with task requirements.
  • Communicate complex programming concepts and engineering decisions in an accessible manner.
  • Maintain high standards of technical accuracy and documentation quality across evaluation deliverables.

Ideal Profile

  • Professional experience in software engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of programming fundamentals and software development principles.
  • Practical experience reviewing, debugging, and maintaining software code.
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and computational problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with software architecture and system design concepts.
  • Ability to evaluate code for correctness, efficiency, readability, and maintainability.
  • Experience identifying programming errors and recommending appropriate corrections.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies and test case development.
  • Ability to design coding problems and implement accurate reference solutions.
  • Familiarity with common software design patterns and engineering best practices.
  • Strong analytical reasoning and logical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience explaining technical decisions and programming solutions clearly.
  • Excellent written communication skills, particularly when documenting engineering concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to assess technical work consistently.
  • At least 1 year of software engineering experience at a leading technology company is preferred.
  • Recent software engineering experience, including work within the past 3 years, is particularly valued.
  • Experience working with production software or real-world development projects.
  • Candidates based in an English-speaking country are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently on technical evaluation and software engineering assignments.
  • Familiarity with AI-generated code, technical benchmarking, or model evaluation is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with AI model training or evaluation projects is not required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
