The posting

We are sharing a specialised remote consulting opportunity for experienced Mechanical Engineering Professionals with strong expertise in engineering design, applied mechanics, computational modelling, simulation, Python programming, and AI-assisted coding workflows to contribute their technical knowledge to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives.

Selected professionals will develop, solve, review, and validate complex engineering problems involving structural mechanics, thermal systems, mechanical design, and multiphysics simulation. The work combines advanced engineering principles with computational analysis, numerical modelling, scientific programming, and coding-agent-assisted workflows to help improve the accuracy, reasoning, and technical capabilities of advanced AI systems. This is a coding-intensive role requiring practical experience using coding agents.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Engineering Research & Technical Problem Development

  • Develop technically rigorous engineering problems involving mechanical design, applied mechanics, structural analysis, and physical systems
  • Analyse complex engineering requirements and translate them into clearly defined analytical or computational tasks
  • Apply engineering principles to realistic scenarios involving mechanical components, physical constraints, and system performance
  • Evaluate design assumptions, material properties, operating conditions, and applicable engineering requirements
  • Contribute specialised mechanical engineering expertise to the development of challenging AI training and evaluation tasks

Computational Modelling & Engineering Simulation

  • Develop analytical and computational models representing mechanical, structural, thermal, and multiphysics systems
  • Create or modify engineering geometries, computational meshes, material definitions, and simulation inputs
  • Define appropriate loads, boundary conditions, contacts, constraints, and solver parameters
  • Conduct engineering simulations to evaluate physical behaviour, design performance, and compliance with specified requirements
  • Assess simulation results for numerical consistency, physical plausibility, and alignment with engineering design constraints

Python Programming & Coding Agent Workflows

  • Develop Python-based solutions for engineering analysis, numerical calculations, simulation workflows, and technical problem-solving
  • Use coding agents to support computational engineering tasks, code development, debugging, and workflow execution
  • Apply programming expertise to automate analytical processes, simulation setup, data processing, and result verification
  • Evaluate generated code for technical correctness, reproducibility, and consistency with underlying engineering principles
  • Integrate coding-agent-assisted approaches into complex engineering workflows while maintaining rigorous technical validation

AI Training & Engineering Solution Evaluation

  • Create realistic engineering questions, computational challenges, and simulation-based evaluation tasks for advanced AI systems
  • Develop accurate reference solutions supported by clear analytical reasoning, numerical methods, and reproducible computational results
  • Review and validate AI-generated engineering analyses, Python implementations, simulation configurations, and technical explanations
  • Identify errors in physical assumptions, engineering calculations, numerical procedures, and computational implementations
  • Provide detailed technical feedback to improve AI performance across mechanical engineering and computational problem-solving tasks

Engineering Validation & Technical Quality Assurance

  • Review engineering designs, analytical models, and simulation outputs for accuracy, completeness, and technical consistency
  • Assess whether generated models and engineering artifacts satisfy applicable physical requirements and design constraints
  • Evaluate computational assumptions, solver settings, numerical results, and engineering interpretations
  • Produce clear technical documentation describing modelling approaches, validation procedures, and engineering conclusions
  • Apply rigorous quality standards to engineering research, simulation-based analysis, and specialised AI evaluation deliverables

Ideal Profile

  • Master's degree (MSc/MS) or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, or substantial equivalent expertise in applied mechanics and mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of classical mechanics, mechanical design, engineering analysis, and physical modelling principles
  • Demonstrated experience developing analytical, computational, or simulation-based solutions to complex engineering problems
  • Practical experience using coding agents in technical or engineering workflows is required
  • Strong Python programming skills, particularly for scientific computing, numerical analysis, simulation, or engineering automation
  • Experience working with structural, thermal, mechanical, or multiphysics engineering problems
  • Familiarity with numerical modelling, finite element analysis (FEA), computational meshes, and engineering simulation methodologies
  • Practical experience defining material properties, loads, contacts, constraints, boundary conditions, and solver inputs
  • Ability to translate physical systems and engineering requirements into computational models and reproducible technical solutions
  • Strong understanding of engineering design constraints, physical validation, and numerical solution accuracy
  • Experience with engineering simulation, technical testing, research and development, or computational design workflows
  • Ability to review generated engineering code and identify numerical, logical, or physical inconsistencies
  • Strong analytical reasoning, mathematical problem-solving, critical-thinking, and technical research capabilities
  • Familiarity with Python-based scientific computing tools and relevant engineering simulation environments is advantageous
  • Experience automating engineering workflows or integrating AI-assisted coding tools into technical processes is highly relevant
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accurate, reproducible, and well-documented engineering work
  • Ability to communicate sophisticated engineering concepts, modelling decisions, and computational findings clearly
  • Strong independent working skills and the ability to manage complex technical assignments in a remote environment
  • Prior experience with AI model training or evaluation projects is advantageous but not required

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
