The posting

We are sharing a specialised remote consulting opportunity for experienced Software Developers with strong expertise in Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, full-stack engineering, software architecture, code review, and technical documentation to contribute their professional knowledge to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives.

Selected professionals will design and evaluate software solutions, review complex codebases, assess architectural decisions, and develop technical explanations based on real-world programming experience. The work combines practical software engineering expertise with system design, code quality assessment, technical problem-solving, and structured evaluation to improve the accuracy, reasoning, and software development capabilities of advanced AI systems. Prior experience with AI training projects is not required.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Full-Stack Engineering

  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions using appropriate programming languages and frameworks
  • Apply expertise in Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, or full-stack development to realistic engineering scenarios
  • Analyse software requirements and translate technical objectives into practical implementation approaches
  • Evaluate application functionality, performance, maintainability, and alignment with established development practices
  • Contribute professional software engineering expertise to the development of technically accurate AI training materials

Software Architecture & System Design

  • Review software architectures, application structures, and technical implementation strategies
  • Evaluate architectural decisions involving scalability, reliability, maintainability, and long-term system performance
  • Analyse interactions between application components, backend services, APIs, and relevant software infrastructure
  • Identify architectural weaknesses, inefficient design patterns, and opportunities for technical improvement
  • Recommend software engineering best practices that support stable and maintainable application development

Code Review & Technical Quality Assurance

  • Conduct detailed code reviews to evaluate functionality, correctness, readability, and adherence to relevant development standards
  • Identify programming errors, implementation weaknesses, and opportunities to improve code quality
  • Assess software solutions for performance, maintainability, and consistency with technical requirements
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback explaining identified issues and recommended improvements
  • Apply practical engineering judgement to evaluate complex codebases and technical problem-solving approaches

AI Training & Programming Content Evaluation

  • Develop realistic programming examples, technical explanations, and software development scenarios for AI training
  • Review AI-generated code, software architecture recommendations, and programming explanations for technical accuracy
  • Identify errors in programming logic, implementation assumptions, and software engineering reasoning
  • Create structured reference explanations illustrating appropriate development approaches and technical decisions
  • Provide detailed expert feedback to improve AI performance across software development, code review, and engineering problem-solving tasks

Technical Documentation & Engineering Collaboration

  • Develop and review technical documentation describing software architectures, implementation decisions, and development workflows
  • Produce clear explanations of programming concepts, code structures, and engineering recommendations
  • Collaborate remotely with technical contributors to review requirements, clarify issues, and improve project deliverables
  • Communicate software engineering findings, technical challenges, and proposed solutions effectively
  • Support consistent quality standards through accurate documentation, structured feedback, and practical development guidance

Ideal Profile

  • Strong professional experience in software development, software engineering, or related technical consulting roles
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Python, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, or full-stack software development is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the relevant programming languages or development specialisations
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering principles, application development, and coding best practices
  • Practical experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications
  • Experience working with complex codebases and evaluating software implementation quality
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, system design, and scalable application development
  • Familiarity with backend systems, APIs, application integrations, and relevant full-stack technologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in code review, debugging, and technical problem-solving
  • Ability to identify programming errors, architectural weaknesses, and maintainability concerns
  • Experience producing and maintaining clear, comprehensive, and accessible technical documentation
  • Strong understanding of performance considerations, software reliability, and maintainable coding practices
  • Ability to analyse technical requirements and develop effective implementation strategies
  • Excellent analytical reasoning, critical-thinking, and structured problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex software concepts clearly
  • Experience providing constructive technical feedback to colleagues, contributors, or engineering teams
  • Familiarity with remote collaboration practices and distributed software development environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, reliable, and well-documented engineering work
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning concepts, or technology training datasets is advantageous
  • Prior experience with AI model training or evaluation projects is not required
