The posting

We are sharing a specialised remote consulting opportunity for VA-accredited Veterans Service Officers, County Veterans Service Officers, and Accredited Claims Professionals with strong expertise in veterans disability compensation, VA claims preparation, survivor benefits, appeals, and decision review procedures to contribute their professional knowledge to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives.

Selected professionals will review realistic veterans benefits inquiries, develop structured evaluation criteria, and assess AI-generated responses for accuracy, completeness, and practical usefulness. The work combines direct VA claims experience with veterans benefits counseling, disability compensation procedures, survivor assistance, and written evaluation to improve how AI systems respond to questions from veterans and their families. Prior experience with AI training projects is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review sample questions concerning VA benefits, disability compensation, and veterans claims procedures.
  • Evaluate whether inquiries accurately reflect questions commonly received from veterans and their families.
  • Identify unrealistic scenarios, unclear requests, and missing information in sample benefits questions.
  • Apply practical VA claims experience to assess the relevance and authenticity of veterans benefits inquiries.
  • Recommend improvements to ensure questions reflect realistic claimant circumstances and common benefits concerns.

VA Disability Compensation & Claims Evaluation

  • Develop evaluation criteria for accurate guidance concerning service-connected disability compensation.
  • Assess responses involving VA disability claims preparation, filing procedures, and supporting evidence requirements.
  • Review explanations of eligibility considerations and documentation relevant to compensation claims.
  • Identify incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated information concerning VA claims processes.
  • Evaluate whether recommended next steps appropriately address the veteran's stated benefits circumstances.

Dependents, Survivor Benefits & Appeals Guidance

  • Review guidance concerning benefits available to eligible dependents and surviving family members.
  • Assess information relating to Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) and CHAMPVA.
  • Evaluate responses involving VA appeals, decision reviews, and available review procedures.
  • Identify errors, omissions, and unclear explanations concerning survivor benefits and claims review options.
  • Apply professional experience to assess whether proposed guidance is relevant, accurate, and practically useful.

AI Response Evaluation & Quality Standards

  • Develop structured rubrics defining correct and complete answers to veterans benefits questions.
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses against established accuracy, completeness, and relevance criteria.
  • Identify factual inaccuracies, missing claims information, outdated guidance, and unclear explanations.
  • Assess whether responses provide appropriate and actionable information for realistic veteran and family situations.
  • Document evaluation findings and recommend specific improvements to AI-generated benefits guidance.

Technical Documentation & Project Collaboration

  • Prepare clear written feedback explaining identified errors, omitted information, and recommended corrections.
  • Document evaluation criteria, claims considerations, and relevant benefits procedures.
  • Communicate practical insights based on direct experience preparing and submitting VA claims.
  • Complete assigned review activities independently within an asynchronous project environment.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency, and professional written communication throughout project deliverables.

Ideal Profile

  • Current VA accreditation as a Veterans Service Organization Representative, County Veterans Service Officer, Accredited Claims Agent, or comparable accredited professional.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience preparing and filing VA claims on behalf of veterans or their families.
  • Demonstrated understanding of VA disability compensation and service-connected disability claims.
  • Practical experience assisting veterans with claims preparation, application procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Working knowledge of dependents and survivor benefits, including DIC and CHAMPVA.
  • Familiarity with VA appeals, decision reviews, and relevant claims review procedures.
  • Ability to identify inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated veterans benefits information.
  • Strong understanding of common questions concerning disability compensation and VA claims.
  • Experience explaining benefits eligibility, claims procedures, and supporting evidence requirements clearly.
  • Practical knowledge of the documentation involved in preparing and submitting veterans benefits claims.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity, precision, and practical usefulness.

  • Experience preparing informational guides, benefits checklists, or training materials is beneficial.
  • Experience assisting diverse veteran populations, including rural communities and non-English-speaking individuals, is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience assisting veterans and their families.
  • Ability to communicate complex claims and benefits procedures in an accessible and accurate manner.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently within a remote project environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
