Role Overview

Seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Platform Engineering to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role is pivotal in driving the technical strategy and execution of our platform infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Software Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), infrastructure management, solutions architecture, and scaling. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust, secure, and scalable multi-tenant platform that powers our global B2B SaaS solution. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic vision and the ability to dive deep into technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage the Platform Engineering InitiativesDefine and execute the technical roadmap for platform infrastructure, observability, and developer experience Drive DevOps, SRE, and Infrastructure initiatives to ensure platform reliability and performance Foster a culture of automation, observability, and continuous improvement
  • Architect and Implement Scalable SolutionsDesign and implement robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions. Establish architectural guidelines and best practices for the platform Ensure optimal performance and scalability across all regions
  • Own Platform Reliability and OperationsDefine and maintain SLOs/SLIs/SLAs for critical platform services Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions Design and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans Lead incident response and post-mortem processes
  • Optimize Platform Performance and CostsImplement strategies to optimize infrastructure costs without compromising quality. Monitor and improve platform performance metrics
  • Resolve Technical DebtIdentify areas of technical debt and develop plans to address them Refactor legacy systems to improve maintainability and performance
  • Ensure Security and ComplianceImplement security best practices and maintain security posture Ensure compliance with SOC 2 and other relevant standards Lead security audits and remediation efforts
  • Enable Developer ProductivityWork closely with cross-functional teams to align platform architecture with business goals. Build and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines Improve developer experience through tooling and automation Establish infrastructure as code practices Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Hands-On Technical LeadershipBe actively involved in solving complex technical issues Contribute to codebases as needed to drive projects forward

Requirements

  • Technical ExpertiseProven experience managing Kubernetes clusters and expertise in container orchestration. Experience with observability tools (e.g., DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana) Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation Experience in Database optimization and management experience (especially for multi-tenant architectures) Extensive knowledge of AWS services, including EKS, Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, Glue, Redshift, and ElastiCache Strong experience with GitOps workflows and tools, particularly ArgoCD Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD pipelines and automation Solid software engineering background with proficiency in Python (backend). Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern JS frameworks (Vue.js, Angular.js, React.js) is a plus. Strong focus on security practices and implementations Experience with multi-tenant architecture patterns and best practices
  • Leadership SkillsAt least 7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure management, or related fields Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive velocity Highly accountable and responsible, with a strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile Proven ability to balance technical debt with feature development
  • Soft SkillsFluent in English Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment Capable of strategic thinking while also being detail-oriented Hands-on approach with the ability to solve complex technical issues independently Proactive, energetic, and understands the importance of making an impact

Technical Environment & Stack

Our engineering team leverages a variety of modern technologies. While working with the company, you can expect to be exposed to the following stack

  • Infrastructure:Kubernetes (EKS) for container orchestration AWS as our primary cloud provider GitOps deployment model with ArgoCD Infrastructure as Code using Terraform Multi-tenant architecture Observability stack (Datadog, Sentry, Atatus)
  • Backend:Python; Web Frameworks: Python frameworks including Django, Fast API; Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and Redis Other: RabbitMQ, Celery
  • Frontend:Javascript/TypeScript. Vue.js
