L'une des principales divisions du groupe AJW est AJW Technique, une installation de pointe pour l'entretien, la réparation et la révision (MRO) qui compte plus de 160 techniciens expérimentés et passionnés à Montréal.

Le titulaire du poste sera en mesure de livrer des solutions d'ingénierie de pointe et innovantes afin de soutenir les opérations au niveau de l'ingénierie tout en permettant de réduire les coûts et améliorer la fiabilité des composants de nos clients. Le titulaire sera également en charge d’introduire de nouvelles capacités de réparation de composants. Le titulaire assure en outre un leadership technique auprès de l’équipe d’ingénierie et veille à la continuité des connaissances au sein du département.

Rôle :

  • Rédiger les instructions techniques nécessaires aux activités de réparation de composantes et au soutien de l'atelier;
  • Concevoir des outils, des équipements d'essai et des logiciels pour tester et certifier ces mêmes composantes;
  • Rechercher des solutions pour améliorer la fiabilité et réduire les coûts sur des composantes;
  • Communiquer avec les OEMs pour solutionner les points techniques complexes;
  • Examiner les bulletins de service (SB) des équipements pour l'ensemble du portfolio de produits afin de recommander des améliorations en termes de fiabilité ou de coûts;
  • Contrôler la fiabilité des composantes en collaboration avec les principaux clients;
  • Responsable des enquêtes techniques sur les problèmes des composantes des clients;
  • Examiner les manuels de maintenance et établir les exigences en matière d'équipement de test, de formation des techniciens et de matériel;
  • Gérer les projets individuels tout au long du processus NPI (« New Product Introduction »);
  • Préparer les justifications financières pour soutenir les nouveaux produits;
  • Examiner, développer et mettre en œuvre les réparations techniques des pièces élémentaires;
  • Servir de référent technique et de point d'escalade pour les problèmes complexes liés aux composantes;
  • Collaborer étroitement avec la production, la qualité et la chaîne d'approvisionnement afin d'aligner les objectifs d'ingénierie sur les priorités opérationnelles;
  • Assurer la gestion des priorités opérationnelles auprès des autres départements et s’assurer du suivi des livrables;
  • Agir comme personne-ressource et seconder le Directeur de l’ingénierie afin de respecter les échéanciers et les objectifs du département;
  • À l’aise avec les structures matricielles pour soutenir techniquement les ingénieurs de l’équipe par la revue de leurs travaux, l’accompagnement et la formation, en cohérence avec les priorités de développement définies par le Directeur;
  • Tout en respectant les objectifs techniques définis, arbitrer les divergences techniques au sein de l’équipe en s’appuyant sur les données, les normes et les exigences réglementaires applicables, et en référer au Directeur au besoin;
  • Structurer et documenter le savoir technique du département, notamment les méthodes, les historiques de réparation et les retours d’expérience, afin d’en assurer la pérennité.

One of the main divisions of the AJW Group is AJW Technique, a state-of-the-art component Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility with over 160 experienced and passionate technicians in Montreal.

The position holder will be able to deliver advanced and innovative engineering solutions to support engineering-level operations while reducing costs and improving the reliability of our clients' components. The position holder will also be in charge of introducing new component repair capabilities. The position holder also provides technical leadership to the engineering team and safeguards the continuity of knowledge within the department.

Main responsibilities:

  • Write the technical instructions required for component repair activities and workshop support;
  • Design tools, test equipment, and software to test and certify those same components;
  • Research solutions to improve component reliability and reduce costs;
  • Communicate with OEMs to resolve complex technical issues;
  • Review Service Bulletins (SBs) for the entire product portfolio and recommend reliability or cost‑improvement actions;
  • Monitor component reliability in collaboration with key customers;
  • Lead technical investigations into customer component problems;
  • Review maintenance manuals and define requirements for test equipment, technician training, and tooling;
  • Manage individual projects throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process;
  • Prepare financial justifications to support new products;
  • Review, develop, and implement technical repairs of elementary parts;
  • Act as the technical reference and escalation point for complex component‑related issues;
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to align engineering objectives with operational priorities;
  • Manage operational priorities with other departments and ensure follow-up of deliverables;
  • Act as a resource person and back up the Director, Engineering to meet the department’s schedules and objectives;
  • Comfortable working within matrix structures to provide technical support to the team’s engineers through work review, coaching and training, in line with the development priorities set by the Director;
  • While respecting the defined technical objectives, resolve technical disagreements within the team on the basis of data, standards and applicable regulatory requirements, escalating to the Director where required;
  • Structure and document the department’s technical knowledge, including methods, repair histories and lessons learned, to ensure its continuity.

Exigences:

  • Baccalauréat en génie mécanique, aérospatial ou dans une discipline connexe;
  • 8 ans et plus d’expérience dans un environnement similaire en aéronautique idéalement dans un service MRO;
  • Membre en règle de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Expérience démontrée de leadership technique auprès de pairs (revue de travaux, mentorat, coordination de projets) ;
  • Très grande connaissance des systèmes d’ingénierie et de qualité ainsi que des normes dans un environnement aéronautique ;
  • Expérience approfondie des composants et systèmes mécaniques ;
  • Bonne connaissance du cadre réglementaire de Transport Canada applicable aux organismes de maintenance agréés (RAC 571 et 573); une délégation DAR ou une expérience en approbation de réparations constitue un atout;
  • Connaissance de la philosophie 5 “S” ;
  • Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et verbale en français et en anglais pour la compréhension des manuels de maintenance ainsi que pour les échanges internes et externes (OEMs, clients) ;
  • Fortes compétences en matière d'analyse et de résolution de problèmes ; souci du détail;
  • Approche et posture collaboratives ; capacité à défendre une position technique avec assurance et diplomatie, et à bâtir des relations de confiance avec l’équipe et l’ensemble des départements;
  • Sens de l’organisation, axé sur les résultats, flexible.

Job requirements:

  • 8 or more years of experience in a similar aerospace environment, ideally in an MRO service;
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Demonstrated technical leadership with peers (work review, mentoring, project coordination);
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering and quality systems and standards in an aerospace environment;
  • In-depth experience with mechanical components and/or systems;
  • Sound knowledge of the Transport Canada regulatory framework for approved maintenance organisations (CAR 571 and 573); a DAR delegation or experience in repair design approval is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the 5S philosophy;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English for reading and understanding maintenance manuals and for both internal and external (OEMs, customers) exchanges;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail;
  • Collaborative approach and demeanour; able to hold a technical position with confidence and tact, and to build relationships of trust with the team and all departments;
  • Organizational skills, results-oriented, flexible.
