About Us

At Alteva RCM, we're dedicated to helping healthcare providers thrive through expert revenue cycle management, strategic insight, and innovative solutions. We're always looking for passionate, driven professionals who want to make a meaningful impact, grow their careers, and be part of a collaborative team committed to excellence.

Senior DevOps Engineer

Alteva RCM | Technology | Full-Time | Queens, NY

About Alteva RCM

Alteva RCM is a healthcare revenue cycle management company that partners with medical practices and surgical centers nationwide. We help providers operate more efficiently, strengthen revenue cycle operations, and navigate the complexity of today's healthcare environment.

We serve a wide range of specialties and operate at scale, with technology playing a central role in how we support clients and internal operations.

About the Role

This is Alteva's first dedicated DevOps hire. Today, infrastructure is run by a managed service provider, and DevOps work is handled piecemeal across IT, vendors and developers. The engineering team is growing quickly, and we need one person who owns how code gets from a developer's machine to production, safely and repeatably.

You will own our environments, deployment pipelines and infrastructure standards, and serve as the technical authority directing our managed service provider on production. You will set and hold the balance between developer productivity and security in a HIPAA-regulated environment as the team scales.

This is a hands-on role. You will build things yourself, not only write policy.

What You'll Own

Environments & Infrastructure

  • Own development, test and staging environments end to end: provisioning, configuration, access and cost
  • Define the target architecture and standards for production, and direct the managed service provider's work against them
  • Manage infrastructure as code across Azure, plus a smaller AWS footprint
  • Isolate environments so production data stays in production, and provide realistic masked or synthetic data for development and testing

CI/CD & Release

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications and supporting services
  • Own release mechanics: deployment automation, rollback readiness and environment promotion
  • Become the single intake point for infrastructure and environment requests from the development teams

Security & Compliance

  • Implement least-privilege access, secrets management and audit logging that meet HIPAA requirements
  • Work with IT and security on endpoint and network controls so developers can work effectively without weakening protection
  • Keep infrastructure and access documentation current enough to pass an audit

Reliability & Support

  • Set up monitoring, alerting and logging so issues are caught early and routed to the right people
  • Write the runbooks, escalation paths and setup documentation the managed service provider uses to support systems after hours, on weekends and on holidays
  • Lead incident response and post-incident review for platform issues

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering or SRE, including ownership of production environments
  • Deep hands-on Azure experience: networking, identity (Entra ID), compute and app hosting, Key Vault, Azure Monitor
  • Infrastructure as code with Terraform or Bicep
  • CI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, ideally for .NET workloads
  • Containers: Docker required, Kubernetes or AKS a strong plus
  • Scripting in PowerShell plus Bash or Python
  • Experience securing environments that handle sensitive or regulated data
  • Experience directing or working closely with an external infrastructure provider
  • Clear written documentation habits; your runbooks will be used by people you are not in the room with

Preferred

  • HIPAA, SOC 2 or HITRUST experience
  • AWS experience
  • Salesforce deployment pipelines or other enterprise SaaS release management
  • Test data masking or synthetic data generation
  • Supporting AI or LLM-based workloads, and using AI-assisted tooling in your own work
  • Background in healthcare, RCM, fintech or another high-volume operational environment

What This Isn't

This is not a 24/7 on-call role. Part of the job is building the documentation and monitoring that let our managed service provider handle off-hours support, so the company does not depend on one person being reachable at all hours.

It is also not a ticket-taking role. You will be expected to set direction, say no when something is unsafe, and shape how the team ships as it grows.

Your First 90 Days

  • Learn the current environments, pipelines and pain points directly from the developers and the managed service provider
  • Audit what moves between production and non-production, and close the gaps
  • Publish a target picture and the first set of standards before the next wave of hiring lands

Why Join

  • Be the first DevOps hire, with the mandate to build the function properly from the start
  • Direct impact as the engineering team scales several times over
  • Work on live healthcare systems where reliability and security matter to real outcomes

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
